5.0 out of 5 stars My first ALL disc. Good stuff., November 23, 2003
This review is from: Mass Nerder (Audio CD)
All's first album on Epitaph two years after the Descendents 'reunion' album 'Everything Sucks', which is a great pop/punk record(man I can't wait til the new one on FAT). 'Mass Nerder' is an awesome disc probably as good as the last Descendents album.

Mass Nerder is strong release to the funny opening track 'World's on Heroin' to the amazing saddened closing track 'Silence'. Chad Price is a strong singer and has a country sound to his voice, which I think is cool. His songs that he writes are great along with Bill and Karl. Stephen co-wrote a few songs too. I can't decide which All tackles issues in politics(not so mush on this album), idiots, problems, the classic Beatle's influenced girl songs all of us love, and more! All just may be one of the best bands ever, but that's just me and I've been told I have the worst taste in music ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars ALL's best, June 21, 2000

Mass Nerder is my personal favorite album of ALL's, mostly because of the very catchy melodies in pretty much every single song. Chad's voice is a perfect match as well. My personal favorite songs on the albums are "I'll Get There" and "Silly Me", but every song is equally as creative and catchy. This is a definite buy for any true punk fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars ALL achieves the almighty ALL!, November 23, 1998
This review is from: Mass Nerder (Audio CD)
This is ALL's finest album to date. For fans who couldn't quite get into the mean attitude of their last effort (ie "Hetero") or the depressing "Black Sky," "Mass Nerder" is an album that combines the best work from "Pummel" and the Descendant's "Everything Sucks." Songs reminiscient of "Long Distance" or "Miranda" are abundant on this album, and each song is in the classic ALL style that we've come to expect. The best include "Until I Say So," "Refrain," "Silly Me" and "Vida Blue;" explosive punk-rock that keeps you tapping along. The songs are of a satisfying length in general, fast, meaningful and containing the oh-so-ALLULAR themes of ex-girlfriends, shoddy friends and contempt for slackers and yuppies. Distinctive guitar work from Stephen Egerton, riffs that remain to be successfully imitated anywhere in rock, are everywhere, and Chad Price sounds as if he really feels every song. Perhaps he does...

After seeing ALL perform live and hearing their last few albums, it is clear to me that they just keep improving with time. There's hardly any punk bands that can pour this much HONEST emotion into an album and make it sound good (the closest may be Unwritten Law). Try this: compare it to the last Descendents release of the first Milo years, "ALL," and then listen to "Mass Nerder." It's the same kind of stuff, but a whole lot better, harder, more refined and memorable. Grab it while you can, play it for your metal-head or "I'm into alternative radio" friends and they will all discover what they've been missing, but what ALL fans have known all along: Everythings sucks except for ALL. Here's a tiny sample:

"I can't forget your pictures that I put away I'll look at them again someday I still hold your memory close to me I've tried to share my thoughts I thought it would never happen to me."

Good stuff, and so familiar to all of us nerds who can relate to the guys in ALL. A punk-rock classic, and that's all I can say.

4.0 out of 5 stars what new punk SHOULD sound like, November 14, 1998
This review is from: Mass Nerder (Audio CD)
I was searching for a follw up to Desendents "Everything Sux" (because the slackers take so long between albums) and found it in "Mass Nerder." I actually may even like this one better. I especially like the tunes penned by Chad Price. They are very "poppy," but still punk. This is what new punk SHOULD sound like.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Few Misses, But A Solid Effort With A Few Gold Tracks, November 13, 2005

All is a curious little creature as far as modern punk bands go, and Mass Nerder is a prime example of that, with a few absolutely brilliant tracks mixed in with some terribly forgettable ones. Until I Say So and Refrain are the sorts of sincere, heartfelt and sharply melodic songs that really good punk bands should be writing, and Honey Peeps, in my opinion, is one of the best punk songs that you can't help but smile to. And Think The World and World's On Heroin are your stock-standard witty, melodic pop-punk songs that are impossible not to like. but then the rest of the songs... I'll Get There, Silence, and oh god, Romantic Junkie - they really shouldn't have bothered with them at all. but hell, i'd pay the full album price just for Honey Peeps, so really, the rest of the songs are bonuses!

5.0 out of 5 stars Short, Powerful Burst of a record. Excellence in its Brevity, March 10, 2003
This review is from: Mass Nerder (Audio CD)
This is one of my top 10 albums of all time. A must for ALL and Descendents fans and an excellent first album for a newbie! It was the first ALL album I ever purchased. Contains not only songs that Descendents faithful will enjoy but also some of the greatest punk-romance songs ever. Is punk-romance a word? It is now. Anyway, check it out Vida Blue, Think the World, Honey Peeps, and the perfection that is Until I Say So. You won't be disapointed with this record. Also try Pummel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great album by ALL, June 8, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Mass Nerder (Audio CD)
This is one of my favorite albums at the moment. I wouldn't say i was exactly a hardcore music fan but i'm pretty close and i know good music when i hear it. All really are a great band. It's such a shame, and the few reviews for all show this, that they are so little known or just not liked. they deserve fame much more than other punk wanna-be's such as green day (a truly terrible band whos songs all sound the same).

Anyway, my favourite songs on the album are 'fairweather freind', 'life on the road' and 'silly me'. If u like bands such as offspring, millencolin and bad religion then check this album out. If this review makes just 1 person buy this album or atleast lets someone else hear off all, then its worth it.
