4.0 out of 5 stars A decent introduction to mass transfer and separations, January 29, 1998
By

This review is from: Mass Transfer: Fundamentals and Applications (Paperback)
I used this text for a junior level mass transfer and separtions course at Michigan State University. It's a good book because it covers everything from the basics of formulating mass transfer models to convective mass transfer to distillation, absorbtion and extraction, but I believe the book is better suited to graduate students or chemical engineering professionals. My undergraduate course only made use of the second half of the book, and I didn't feel it had enough design and application material.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a very good begining, January 25, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Mass Transfer: Fundamentals and Applications (Paperback)
I've used the book in my mass transfer course in Cemical Eng. at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and I think thet this book is the best oriented book to the first sight to the subject. However, I think that it could be a little deeper in design oriented themes.
That's why I would invite to all seniors and majors in ChemEng to study it and reflect it. After having a good base, any one of you may see a good design book such as Brown's Chemical Engineering Operations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent text on Mass Transfer!, August 2, 2009
This review is from: Mass Transfer: Fundamentals and Applications (Paperback)
This is a great graduate level text on Mass Transfer. I covers solutions to the differential equations that are used in mass transfer and explains diffusion very well. The only thing I think this book could have improved on was the treatment of equilibrium separations.
