Punk's not dead!,
By Patrick Stott (Rolleston, Canterbury, New Zealand) - See all my reviews

I bought this album in 1991 on the same day I bought Metallica's "Black" album. Guess which one of the two I go back to now? It most certainly isn't the CD which contains "Enter Sandman". This album should appeal to any thrash fans disappointed by the direction taken by Metallica et al., along with punkers in the GBH/Discharge mould. Wattie and crew kept it fast and furious as usual on this album, spitting vitriol at the usual punk targets- Margaret Thatcher and the police. If you want pure, unbridled anger, forget the death metal section and go with this. This IS punk.

Beautifully Brutal,

Yet another amazing Exploited album. This is definitely a different, more metal/thrash influenced sound, though it is certainly as good as their previous material, I myself consider it better. If you like Punk Rock, and are a fan of (or at least have an open ear to) thrash and metal, you will definitely love this album. Though fans new to the Exploited should start with their earlier material, I recommend "Punk's Not Dead" to truly understand the band better. Exploited fans - BUY THIS! Incredible stuff. Intense, meaningful, and as the Exploited continue to show us - punk will never die.

The Exploited hybridates speed metal with hardcore punkthis time, going in a direction they followed faithfully till the last album.Gorgeous guitar solos and the harshest sound of all of the albums(solos mixed too loud). The sound is not as accomplished as it is on ¨Bastards¨and ¨F...The System, but it's pure, angry, full blast EXPLOITED anyway. No fan of the band should overlook this album.I attended the Buenos Aires concert last Sunday and they really kicked @ss !!!!

Good Album. nothing more to say.,

Many people believed that this was the album that changed the Exploited as we know it today. I don't find that true. The songs are good and they provide a little spoken word before the song gets going. the only song that is slow is the song blown out of the sky (and no!!! this is not a part two to Blown to Bits.) one other word of advice is that if you want to hear a little live material get the Captain Oi version of this album as they have some of the Live in Japan stuff in it.

Massacre of Music, in a good way,
By I Rock "I'm a Rocker" (Pennsylvania, USA) - See all my reviews

The Massacre by The Exploited starts off with a bombsell of thrash noise and doesn't really ever let up. This is one of my favorite Exploited albums. It's more "metal" than "punk" if you like labels and categories. The music is FAST. Not every song is good but most are; I'd say 9/12. If you want to hear "newer" Exploited to compare to the old oi stuff, check this CD out. Standout tracks: The Massacre, Porno Slut, Don't Pay The Poll Tax.

good, but not their best,

"the massacre" came out when the exploited went speed metal pretty much all the way. The lyrics are standard exploited lyrics, the attitude is the same, but the one thing that makes this cd kinda suck is the solos. Otherwise its great.

Great CD...hard-driving political punk rock. Definitely one of their better CDs. Wattie sounds great on this one. "Porno Slut" and "Don't Pay the Poll Tax" are both excellent songs...and funny too. Definitely a must-buy for any true punk fan.

THIS IS AN INTERESTING RELEASE BUT NOT A FAVORITE ONE. I WAS USED TO HEARING A DISTINCT EXPLOITED SOUND,AND THIS WAS A COMPLETE CHANGE IN MUSIC STYLE. IT'S QUITE STRONG LYRICALLY.
