Excellent presentation of the structure of Italian,
By
This review is from: Master the Basics Italian (Master the Basics Series) (Paperback)
This book provides an excellent overview of the structure of the Italian language. Some may find it 'dry' compared to more colloquial-based language books, but it has served me very well. It provides a ready reference for grammar, including exceptions and oddities - very well-organized. This book, together with an Italian dictionary and reading material for vocabulary-building, is all you'll need to 'master the basics' of Italian. Far superior to other books in its class that I've seen.

Italian Basics,
By A Customer
This review is from: Master the Basics Italian (Master the Basics Series) (Paperback)
This is a great reference book for those with some knowledge of the Italian language. It has an assessment test at the beginning to determine in which areas you need review. Then all the grammar is laid out in sections for each part of speech (nouns, verbs, pronouns, etc.) There are sections on idioms, correspondence and business. It whipped my Italian back into shape in no time. You may want another source for building your vocabulary but you will definitely be able to correctly use the words you know with confidence.

I would ONLY recommend this book as suplemental teaching or REFERENCE GUIDE. It has highlighted areas that show main the points and expamples which makes it a nice reference. If you want to use this as a supplemental teaching tool that would be fine, but the main teaching tool should be a standard textbook like Oggi in Italia or Basic Italian 7th or 8th Edition by Speroni.
