5.0 out of 5 stars Master Change, Maximize Success, March 7, 2004

Finnaly, a "how to" book written in common sense style. The message of this book is clear, concise, and cogent. Change without proper planning, clear vision, and direct sponsorship is the formula for chaos, at best. This is a work that belongs on the shelf - no, desktop of anyone who is charged with managing people, processes, or the business culture within any corporation. The examples clearly indicate the generic nature of the change elements, regardless of level on a chart or position on the management cascade. I highly recommend this work at both the theoretical level and as a guideline for any business process improvement department.

"Master Change, Maximize Success" is an engaging read, and a visually stimulating book that offers powerful philosophies and techniques for surviving in a world that is changing at an unprecedented pace.

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT PRACTICAL Book, March 6, 2004
By
This review is from: Master Change, Maximize Success (Paperback)
I have just returned to nashville, Tn from Texarkana, Tx. I took Master Change, Mazimize Success with me along with 2 or 3 other books. I am an avid reader and with all the time I spend on airplanes and in hotels I get to read a lot. I always read well over 100 books a uear. And Rebecca after 38 years of active government service and now another 2 1/2 working in the private sector, you know I have seen lots of change. Unfortunately some of it was not well managed. I found your book very insightful. The high point for me resides in the 21 Work Solutions. I sure wish I would have had that years and years ago! I made so many notes for myself it seemed I was writing another book. I am less engaged in change management now than I was in my active governement service but I am still surrounded by change. This is a great work and already I have some of my collegues reading it. This is material we can apply right NOW! Many thanx for a SUPER book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Managing Change? Read this book!, March 4, 2004
By
This review is from: Master Change, Maximize Success (Paperback)
Managing change successfully is perhaps the single most difficult task leaders face today. Change is everywhere and the mismanagement of it is costly. Fortunately Rebecca Potts and Jeanenne LaMarsh have written a book that provides a practical approach with a great track record for results. My company has used LaMarsh and Associates on a consulting basis for the past 4 years and we've experienced first hand the benefits that come from using their methodology. This book clearly describes those methods and tools in a straight forward manner. The book is an easy read and loaded with great suggestions for overcoming the inevitable resistance to change.

Excellent book. If you want to learn about implmenting change in a practical and structured way, you'll find all you need in this book. The Lamarsh approach and supporting tools are the best I've seen and used over my 15 years of experience in managing change.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for any serious OCM practitioner!, January 7, 2010

I had the pleasure of meeting with the author, Jeanenne LaMarsh, and she presented me with an autographed copy of her book. The structure and content of this book makes it an excellent "go-to" resource for anyone leading change initiatives. I have tried many of her strategies with my clients and they work!

My library of OCM books is extensive and this is one of my favorites because it's loaded with hands-on approaches that you can really buy into... not just OCM theory.

Pick up a copy - you will love it.

Change Management has become a buzzword in the last years and this is one of the best introductions to the subject. The LaMarsh methodology explained in the book is the most complete and best structured I have seen so far. Most companies accomodate to much less than is proposed in the book but then they pay a lot more with the extra pain and reduced effectiveness of inadequately managed changes. A must read.

As a Change Master, trained to implement change with Jeannene LaMarsh's techniques, I find this book essential to remind me of ideas, concepts, techniques, definitions, tools. It is a good read, but an even better reference book. I love the index and the pages where tools are laid side by side with the reading material showing where they should be used.
