If you have read any Angela Knight books you know they are "HOT" well be prepared this one is dynamite. As a matter of fact over half the book is in the bedroom, so to speak. Nevertheless, the story is fantastic. I don't know if this is the last one in the Mageverse, but I would think not. However, after this one she may have to stretch to get another one with as much action in the bedroom and out.

Nineva Morrow is a half human/half fairy princess, she is the avatar of a Goddess,Semira, who is imprisioned in a sword. She has been raised to know her destiny is to free the Goddess. She has visions and dreams of a blue dragon incinerating her. So she is not exactly thrilled to meet Kel.

Kel is a cobalt blue dragon, for 1500 yrs he was imprisoned in a sword. His friendship with Gwain got him through and in MASTER OF SWORDS he was finally released. Now the God of the Dragons has asked him to protect Nineva and help her release Semira. Semira is a fertility goddess and needs to be recharged by her avatar. Kel and Nineva do their best to recharge the goddess.

The Dark Ones are after Nineva, they have already stolen Llyr's sword and using the power of Nineva and Semira they will destroy the wards Merlin left to protect Earth.

This is a wonderful adult type fairy tale, and I liked it. It really did remind me of the fairy tales I read as a child, but with alot more detail and intimacy. Most of the characters from her other books make an appearance in this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dragons Rule!, June 5, 2007
By
Jenna Leigh "Jenn" (Louisiana, United States) - See all my reviews
Master of Dragons pairs up dragon and a princess, right off the bat, you know Ms. Knight's working her own brand of magic, because usually the dragons eat the princess, right? Well, okay, I'll give you that's the case here too, but not the way you'd think.

Nineva is a fairy princess and also the the last of avatar of her goddess. She's in exile because an evil king who wants to kill her to stop a prophecy from coming true. All her life she's dreamed of a man, who despite his beauty, brings great pain, in the form of dragon's fire.

Kel is a dragon, however, when you're imprisoned in a sword for over a thousand years you have a lot of time to learn magic, including the spell to turn human. Once freed, he became the first Knight of the Round Table in over four hundred years, an honor he was happy to accept with all the many perks, and women that came along with it. But he's still a dragon first, so when his dragon god asks him to protect Nineva, he takes the job very seriously.

Nineva and Kel are the latest couple paired up to battle almost insurmountable odds to save the Mageverse and subsequently Earth as well. This time she's added the dragons to her vamps, witches, fairies and were's and oh my, what a mix it is! I loved Kel from the moment he talked out of that sword, and I've been wishing for his story ever since. They say be careful what you wish for.. well, they don't know what they're talking about. Kel and Nineva deliver on all levels. Kel is one of the sexiest heroes ever and Nineva is the most down to earth fairy princesses because of how she had to live. Master of Dragons is packed full of action, adventure, danger, romance, steam and just enough character cameos from the past books to satisfy your need to know that their Happily Ever Afters really did last forever after all.

3.0 out of 5 stars My second Knight book, but I'm still a fan, September 19, 2007
Nineva Morrow is a princess of the sidhe, an avatar to the goddess Semira, and the only thing that stands between the Mageverse and the Dark Ones. Since birth, Nineva has been raised to believe that she will free Semira from an enchanted sword, and that in order to do so she will have to sacrifice herself to a blue dragon. Little did Nineva know that the blue dragon in question, Kel, would turn out to be her soul mate, and that together they would save the Mageverse from certain doom.

Master of Dragons is only my second Angela Knight book, but I'm still a huge fan of her work. Even though this book is number 8 in the Mageverse series, it's the first I've read in this storyline. That being said, there were definitely times when I knew I might have benefited from a little more background, but the story can definitely be read--and enjoyed--without that sort of grounding force. I liked this story, and will be sure to go back and read some of the others.

Nineva was an interesting heroine. She was born to be a martyr and her self-righteousness and determination to free Semira at all costs were both amusing and irritating. I think it took a hero of Kel's protective, arrogant, and strong nature to temper my initial dislike of her. By the time these two finally decided to make things work and combine their forces for the good of the Mageverse, I was feeling better about them both. Master of Dragons took some getting used to for me (but remember it's my first Mageverse book, so I'm probably in the minority), but once I started liking it, I couldn't wait to find out what happened. Read this book if you're in the mood for a romantic sci-fi fantasy story with a couple who is not afraid to kick a little tail.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! Loved this one!, June 5, 2007
Nineva Morrow's whole life has been spent in preparation for freeing her goddess, Semira. As the twenty-first Avatar, Nineva knows this is her destiny despite her horrific visions. After all, her visions entail her being burned alive by a dragon in order to fulfill the prophecy and free Semira. When she meets the dragon knight Kel, she knows instantly he is the dragon from her visions. However, much more is at stake than just freeing Semira. Dark forces are at work... will these dark forces destroy Nineva, Kel, and even the Mageverse?

As a long time fan of the Mageverse series, all I can say after finishing MASTER OF DRAGONS is WOW!! Angela Knight has outdone herself with this one as it exceeds all expectations. I had hoped Kel's story would be one worthy of him, since he had endured being imprisoned in Gawain's sword for such a long time. Ms. Knight has created a story that was definitely worth the wait as Kel is allowed to truly shine in this tale. Without a doubt, MASTER OF DRAGONS is the best book yet in this phenomenal series.

Angela Knight has a talent for developing characters the reader can bond with as she puts a lot of emotion into her stories. Kel is the ultimate hero with his selfless behavior. Nineva needs a mate like Kel to soften the matyr's attitude she has developed. The intertwining of their fates is very nicely done as MASTER OF DRAGONS will satisfy both fantasy and paranormal romance fans.

Angela Knight is one of the masters at writing steamy paranormal romances. Her Mageverse series is packed with all sorts of supernatural creatures while her heroes and heroines generate quite a bit of heat. MASTER OF DRAGONS can definitely be read as a stand alone, although readers may be a bit overwhelmed by all of the characters as many of the past characters play important roles in this tale. However, I would at a minimum suggest reading MASTER OF SWORDS first simply because it contains a lot of Kel's past history and sets the stage for his character. MASTER OF DRAGONS is one heck of a read and easily recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Angela Does it again!, August 12, 2007
Once again Angela Knight brings fantasy and a great story together again. This time Kell gets to show us just what he is made of and we were definately not disappointed. The story was exciting, sexy and definately kept my attention through the whole book. Angela shows you the struggle that Kell and Nineva go through to fit in. She brings that life or death struggle that they are going through, yet also give you that sexual tension that they have together. A dragon and a Goddess what a combination and what a story. This is a must read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Master of Dragons: Magical, August 9, 2007
Ms. Knight once more delivers her magic touch.
Master of Dragons is the first title I've read in the series, but it won't be the last. I plan on buying the rest of the Mageverse series.

Kell is a wonderful hero and Nineva is the perfect heroine for him.
The worldbuilding is seamless, the plot kept me turning the pages.

Bravo, Ms. Knight for a truly wonderful tale of magic and love.
I am never disappointed when I pick up a book by Angela Knight.

5.0 out of 5 stars A true "Masterpiece", July 9, 2007

Fairy princess Nineva Morrow has been on the run for her entire life. It is prophesied that Nineva is the person destined to release the goddess Semira from her centuries-long imprisonment inside the Sword of Semira. Long ago one of Semira's priests captured her essence in the sword to save the goddess from her enemies. Nineva is the avatar for Semira and is destined to fulfill the prophecy and free Semira with the assistance of a blue dragon. At that time, the goddess will banish the enemies of the Sidhe people and insure that the rightful ruler sits on the Sidhe throne. Because of this prophecy, Nineva's cousin Ansgar, the King of the Morven Sidhe, has been attempting to kill her since the day she was born. Ansgar fears the goddess would think him unworthy of the throne.

At age seventeen, Nineva performs a healing spell on a neighbor's dog to save its life. Ansgar's assassins magically pinpoint her location as soon as her power flares. Nineva's life changes forever when the assassins murder her parents, leaving her an orphan. For twelve years, Nineva is forced to flee from place to place as Ansgar locates her and sends more of his men to kill her.

Nineva performs magic at children's parties. At one such party, Nineva performs a healing spell on a terminally sick child. Nineva leaves the party as quickly as possible when she senses someone trying to track her through her magic. However, this time it is not assassins who are tracking her. It is the dragon from the prophecy. Nineva has dreamed of this cobalt blue dragon for twelve years. The first dream occurred the night before her parents' assassination.

Kel is a dragon in his natural form. He is also an honorable knight who understands what it means to be betrayed by kin. Kel's uncle betrayed him by trapping Kel inside a sword 1,500 years earlier. Upon Kel's release from the sword, King Arthur names Kel the first new member of the Knights of the Round Table in four hundred years.

Cachamwri, god of the dragons, assigns Kel the duty of protecting Nineva Morrow. Kel and Nineva must find the Sword of Semira in which the goddess is trapped and free her from it. The couple must funnel energy to the goddess through Nineva's link as avatar. The energy needed to power Semira is sexual energy since she is a goddess of fertility. Upon learning what is required of him, Kel is more than happy to be of assistance to the lovely princess and her goddess. What man would turn down the assignment handed to Kel?

Forces from within the Mageverse are conspiring with an ancient evil in a bid to control both the Mageverse and Earth. The Dark Ones were once driven from both universes through great effort and sacrifice. The Dark Ones have found an ally who agrees to assist them in breaking through the magical barriers barring them entry. Will Kel and Nineva complete their quest to find and free the goddess from her imprisonment? Can they convince all the different segments of the Mageverse to combine forces in the effort to repel their enemies? Can this unlikely couple find the inner strength to fulfill their destiny?

MASTER OF DRAGONS is a fabulous book. It is a story filled with brave knights, dragons, kings, and a fairy princess. While Angela Knight's story includes many characteristics of childhood fairy tales, it is definitely a book for adults. MASTER OF DRAGONS is an erotic love story set in a fantastic world called the Mageverse, a universe filled with magic and intrigue. Fans of Knight's books will happily recognize many characters from her previous novels. Although MASTER OF DRAGONS can be read as a stand alone story, it is better appreciated when read in context with the rich tapestry Knight has woven throughout this amazing series. I fell in love with Kel when he first appeared in MASTER OF SWORDS while trapped in a sword. This love affair continued to grow and flourish in MASTER OF DRAGONS. He is a hero to set any woman's heart fluttering. Nineva is a terrific heroine and a great match for Kel. She is a woman whose strength of character has been forged in the fires of tragedy and adversity. I loved reading about the interaction of these wonderful characters and enthusiastically followed their adventures through the pages of the story.

The fast-paced action of MASTER OF DRAGONS kept me glued to the pages of this spectacular book. This is a scorching love story. The passionate love scenes had me lowering my thermostat in an attempt to cool off from this incredibly erotic romance. MASTER OF DRAGONS is paranormal fantasy at its finest.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Read., June 20, 2007
By
Granted I am a fan of Angela Knight's "Master of" series, but after finishing Master Of Swords I wanted to read more about Kel. Here was a heroic character locked away for 1500 years free. He needed a heroine of his own and gets one in fairy princess Nineva. Ms. Knight handles the angst of Nineva and Kel's doubts wonderfully. Never allowing them to over power, but enough to reach the reader.

Ms. Knight's book are definitely erotic romances and she does them well.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXcellent instance of romantic erotic fantsey, June 14, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This has the appearance of the end of the series or at least the end of this part of the series. I hope that the author will continue with this intriguing mageverse series even though with different characters and perspective.

The characters are very compelling with suitably villainous villains. The plot starts out kind of linear but has a couple complications along they way as well as humor. A nicely done ending with a suitably violent battle. The erotic scenes are very well done as usual without the tedium that seems to have crept into LKHs scenes.

Very highly recommended for those with the taste for erotic fantasy.

3.0 out of 5 stars took a while to read it, September 6, 2007
I usually can read 1 book a day if it's really good. This one took me 4 days. It's not bad, but kinda boring and found myself skipping paragraphs to get through it. I was looking forward to Kel's book but I think he was more interesting in Master of Swords than in this one. I love sex in books but this one got to be a bit much. After about the 5th explicit love scene I just started skipping the sex scenes which is something I never do. It was like, allright already, get on with the story.
