This little air compressor takes up very little space and took me from 28-35psi in 30 seconds for each tire. The carrying case is very handy and fits everything in there without any force. Package came with a tire guage and attachments to inflate bikes and mattrasses. No regrets here; beats waiting in line at gas stations for air.

Little Air Compressor that Could !!! Wow !,

Tires were running low on air during the cold spell and this little compressor came through ! Small and lite weight its just what the doctor ordered. This unit is easy to hook up and operate. Air gage is attached to read while filling. Unit is made of mostly of steel and not plastic. Unit does not walk away when turned on and is extremely quiet. This is a tool and not a TOY !! 10 foot cord plugs into cigar lighter anywhere for ease of use. 16 foot air hose is great. Total of 26 feet from cigar socket. Case is a nice touch! Takes 1 minute to fill tire. 30 liter per minute flow rate. For cars this unit is great ! If you have a RV or truck you may want to upgrade to 1050. Over all I would rate this unit A+++++. J.T.

Quick, quiet, but with one major design flaw,

This inflator is well designed, works quickly and quietly, and comes in a nice storage bag to stow away in your car. It does have one major design flaw which is the purpose of this mini-review : the screw-on valve adapter. Most inflators come with a quick-release type adapter. This one comes with a screw-on adapter. It's good because it means a secure seal, but it also means that it lets a good 2psi of air back out of your tire every time you unscrew it. The problem is that as you unscrew it, the seal is broken with the valve, but the pin in the valve is still held in so air begins to escape. If you're quick, it lets out about 2psi. If you have large fingers, are elderly, or otherwise slow at manipulating small objects in tight spaces, this could let out up to 10 psi while unscrewing it. This makes the whole inflator questionable because whilst the built-in pressure gauge is bang-on accurate while the hose is attached, it's meaningless once you unscrew the valve adapter and let a bunch of air out. In the end you will find yourself over-inflating your tyres by 2 to 3 psi just to compensate for the screw-on valve adapter. It's a shame because otherwise this is one of the best inflators I've owned.

I picked this up after owning a few. Some had lights, jumpstarters etc, some were just air like this one. All I can say is wow, this thing is fast! It claims to fill a car tire in a minute I believe it.

Solid construction. Comes with a nice carry bag.
Inflates a bicycle tire or adds 5 pounds of pressure in a car tire in 5-8 seconds. There is a needle for pumping balls and few other tips. The gauge shows slightly higher reading while pumping and immediately settles to a correct value when it is switched off. Be very careful not to over-inflate small items. To use it need to: 1) Screw on the pump's nozzle onto the tire valve stem. Small amount of air will leak out. 2) Watch the gauge and keep your finger on the on/off switch!!! 3) Turn it off when the gauge reading is a few pounds above the intended. 4) Unscrew the nozzle tip from the stem, while pressing on nozzle spring to reduce the small air leak during disconnection. Better to over inflate slightly and release extra air to get to exact pressure. I wish there were quick attach/release connector for this purpose. I use Accutire MS-4021B Standard Digital Tire Gauge to double check the pressure.

Quick & Quiet,

First of all I saw this cheaper at a local auto parts store...Damn!
$13 cheaper...Damn again! I am happy to say that this product works very well and is very fast. I really like the coiled air line which makes the reach even longer and adds a professional looking touch to it. There are only two down sides that I see. One is no quick release lever you have to be quick while unscrewing the air connector or you may lose a half pound of air. 12/30 which means that for every 12min of use it needs 30min for motor to cool according to the manual. Those two downers should not be a real problem considering how quick it inflates! The screw on method takes me back to the days of the old bicycle air pumps....I'm getting quite used to it plus I don't have arthritis in my fingers. If you do I suggest a kind that has quick release. Ooops! forgot to mention it comes with a handsome carrying bag nice touch! Also, very sturdy on the ground doesn't jump around like my old one.

Air hose split third time used,

Was using this to add air to my tires - the third time I used it - the curly yellow air hose split at the top. It has a three year warranty with a company Q Industries that has no phone number. Not sure it is legit. Will try and mail the air hose back with the receipt - but clearly this is not a quality product.

Tried twice to buy this compressor with no luck. Both times it arrived with cracked and broken plastic end pieces. The end pieces are so fragile they do not survive shipping.

Quiet & Fast,

This review is from: Master Flow MF-1040 Cyclone High Volume Portable Air Compressor (Automotive)
Received this last night and Wow am I pleased with it - I had a cheap pump that lasted me a couple years but it sounded like a locomotive, vibrated the walls, and took quite a while to put 10 pounds in. When it kicked the bucket last week I decided to spend a little money and try to get something better and I really have with this unit.
As others have said it's fast - took me less than a minute per tire to put in between 5 and 10 pounds each. And it's quiet enough that I could have a conversation in the garage with it running (not quite normal conversation but I wouldn't have to bellow) and the little rubber feet keep it stationary on the concrete. Only small gripe is that the built-in Gauge has PSI in red along the outside of the dial which is hard to see in dim light. |
