Master Flow MF-1050 This compact unit is powered by a 1/3 HP oil-less motor and includes a buil-in serviceable air filter. Large, easy-to-read gauge makes precise inflation a snap. Comes with alligator clip connectors, but can be permanently mounted and wired if desired. Quick connect 16 ft. of coil hose included with easy twist screw-on brass inflator nozzle. I did a LOT of research before purchasing this particular compressor, and despite the issues that some people have had, I still felt it was going to be the best way to go. Its a drag to buy something, then have to fix it out of the box, but after doing the modifications, this little thing is awesome and reliable.

When it arrived, I connected it for 30 seconds to make sure it worked, then got busy working on the issues I had read might be awaiting me ... and they were there, sure as heck.

Issue #1: There is a relay in back by the switch and they did a lousy job soldering it; install solderless connectors. Additionally, my relay was bad, so I replaced with better quality. (Open the back slowly and carefully). -$6 fix, 30 min repair-

Issue#2: The connector for the hose is an odd duck, so you may want to tap out the head and replace with one more usable. This is not as tough and frightening a job as you think. do some research. -$5 (connector and fitting), 30 min repair-

Issue #3: the gauge is crap, get rid of it. You can find one made for checking tires (slime brand) at an auto parts store and it screws right in. -$3.99, 1 minute repair-

Issue #4: The power cord. I use mine as on-board air and immediately hardwired using large-gauge wire, so it wasn't so much an issue for me. However, some have complained about various minor problems. Research and apply your own solution if needed.

After the mods, I agree with the majority that this to be probably the best portable 12v compressor out there. I use it a LOT in my rock crawler.

Google the name and model number; there are several long and detailed threads on 4x4 forums about this.

worked like a champ! I have an RV with tires that require 115 psi. this was not a problem for this compressor. The RV also has an "air ride" system for the axels and the 5th wheel hitch. This compressor had not problem filling the system to the required level. good price

The air compressor works great. I have 2 of them. they both have a similar problem........THe nipple that the air hose plugs into, is not a standard type air nipple.....so, if i want to change hose types, from the cheesy included hose, I have to take the head off the compressor, and get a npt pipe tap, and re-thread the head. The 2 compressors I have, both have different types of nipples,and the threaded nipple is not a standard npt thread........ so the hoses are not compatiable with one another. Whoever does the quality control should know this, and get someone to look at this problem. I won't buy another one.
