I waited and dreamed and hoped... and they finally made a Master Grade Tallgeese I kit.

The biggest downer for me right away is that this is technically the "Endless Waltz" version of the Tallgeese, which has quite a few small changes from the "TV" version. Changes include yellow trim everywhere, some dark gray parts going to very light gray (the vernier pods on the back most noticeably), a much chunkier Dobergun, and a few small changes to proportions.

In terms of structure, the only real difference is that the vernier pods are actually attached to the main torso instead of to the shoulder armor, which is a massive improvement in terms of pose-ability. Previous Tallgeese kits needed obscene amounts of reinforcement to the shoulder and verier joints to stay posed for very long.

The mold colors are nice and straightforward, the only really bothersome thing being the yellow parts are more orange-yellow in person. I don't know why exactly, but this happens with almost all the Bandai kits I can think of, I guess they have yet to perfect actual yellow plastic. The two red parts (for the crest) are also more of a wine color than bright red for whatever reason. Only two small sections on the small vernier fins and the bottom of the rear skirt armor that aren't molded in the final colors, which means it'll look pretty complete without paint and is easy to paint anyway.

There's tons of articulation coming from the HG kits, all the joints are much more detailed and have many more moving parts, which is cool but at the price of fragility. I made the mistake of pre-painting the gray sprues before assembly, which usually works fine but this kit has too many tight tolerances (especially on the vernier pods and the gun) for the articulation to still function well.

My husband loved it, can't wait to see the end result of the build. The box was in great condition, manual is in Japanese, but easy to follow the pictures. Great collectible for a birthday gift for a Gundam fan!

Came in faster than I expected, the day after the first day listed in the deliver by window. Easiest of the 4 MG kits I bought to put together, but still a rather fun build. I suggest getting an action stand to go along with it, to keep from having someone tip over and break all the work you put into it. If you like Gundam and are looking into moving up to MG model kits, this is a good start.

Another fun kit to build. Very flexible. The Dobergun is spring loaded and has a fun recoil function. Only downside is the the shield is a bit frustrating to put in the hand.

Overall a great kit.

2 Big caveats. 1.) Obviously if you arent into model kits or this is your first model kit in the Master Grade series, make sure you know what you are in for and be ready for the work.2.) Tallgeese has a pretty horrid physical design. Very top heavy, and the Dobber gun basically doesnt work in reality. So that gives this kit a handicap. Otherwise I give it a 4.

Negatives. As mentioned the thrsters really throw off the balance of what is otherwise a very athletic kit. The mechanism for the thrusters is really cool, but I'd rather have lighter thrusters for better balance. And the Dobbergun/Shield are virtually ineffective. The Shield should stay on its rack, and the Dobber gun only has a few posistions without is holster, and fewer with the holster. Lastly, the visor... if you want the blue you have to pick up paints or some sharpie (I opted for the sharpie and it worked out really good when I colored the Leo monoeye and the back of the visor.)

Positives. Beautiful build, beautiful kit, and a lot of great gimmicks Very posable, even when you factor in the weapons.

Gray area; I personally love the new color scheme, but for a lot of folks its hit or miss. .

Finally we get the OZ-00MS Tallgeese in Master Grade form. It's a great incarnation of the Tallgeese and it's an awesome build.
