Charles F. Haanel (1866-1949) used the concepts and methods found in

The Master Key System to create a successful business career in St. Louis,

Missouri, where he eventually founded one of the largest conglomerates of his

time. He wrote several bestselling books focusing on his business technique.

Besides The Master Key System, he also wrote Mental Chemistry and

The New Psychology. Known as the "father of personal development,"

Haanel's commonsense wisdom has revolutionized conventional thought for almost

one hundred years.

Rev. Ruth L. Miller, PhD, has interpreted the works of some of the greatest thinkers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, from Ralph Waldo Emerson to Charles F. Haanel. Her modern translations make it possible for today’s readers to grasp the essential ideas and use the powerful practices of these great teachers.

Dr. Miller served as associate professor and director of the Cybernetic Systems Program at San Jose State University and as director of curriculum & evaluation for Rogue Community College. She has led countless workshops on new paradigms, systems thinking, and futures research.

After years of studying the nature of consciousness, Dr. Miller found she could no longer ignore the spirit. She became coordinator for adult religious education in a small-town Methodist church while helping to found a Unitarian-Universalist fellowship there. She was ordained in the New Thought tradition and became the pastor of the Lifeways Center in Portland, Oregon, then interim assistant at Unity of Beaverton. She is currently a “circuit riding preacher,” serving New Thought and Unitarian-Universalist churches in Oregon, Washington, and California.

More About the Author

Charles F. Haanel (1866-1949) was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He began his business career in St. Louis. He resigned his position in order to start his own company and eventually founded one of the largest conglomerates of his time.

Mr. Haanel put into books the ideas and methods he used to gain his success. Besides the Master Key System, which he wrote in 1917, he also wrote Mental Chemistry and The New Psychology (both available through Kallisti Publishing).

Mr. Haanel died in 1949 and is buried in Bellafontaine Cemetery, St. Louis. Walter B. Stevens described Mr. Haanel as "a man of mature judgement, capable of taking a calm survey of life and correctly valuing its opportunities, its possibilities, its demands and obligations."

I don't understand how someone wrote that this book is a rip-off of the original book. This book contains all of the original text/book at the end of the revised version for the new Century. I have been comparing the new text to the original text contained at the end of the book, and it is very much the same. It is only revised in a way so that we can understand it due to the change our language over the last 100 years. I would recommend this book to anyone. In fact, I have.

There have been huge licenses taken with the original book. Laying the two side by side, you can see that very little of the original has been retained. While the message is similar, it is really a rip-off of the original.

This book is an absolute god send and is more relevant today than in 1912. The no nonsense style and week by week instruction is a joy to read, easy to follow and gives the reader enough information to focus and implement each section. After years of trying to constantly implement the laws of attraction and having success limited to my ability to focus, The Master Key System allows one to fully understand learn and practice the process to the point where concentration is minimal and it becomes ingrained in your habits.
