5.0 out of 5 stars strong album
excellent debut album by this interesting metalcore band. Most reviewers classify Merauder as a hardcore act, but undeniably this album presents masterly executed-elements of 90's thrash metal, with relentless riffs and poweful double drummning. Vocals are perfect for the style, more in the hardcore territory. If you like crossover bands that put together the best of...

2.0 out of 5 stars Angry New York punks sign record deal
I read a review acclaiming this album as the greatest thing to happen to American metal in 1996, etc., etc., needless to say I picked it up. Yawn. Another bunch of Biohazard/Black Flag wannabes with their predictable riffage and bleeding heart lyrics. The production is fine and some of the music shows promise, but the unfounded arrogance prevalent (especially in...

Vocals are perfect for the style, more in the hardcore territory. If you like crossover bands that put together the best of hardcore and thrash metal for an unstoppable headbanging/bodysurfing, like Pantera, Pro-Pain, Hatebreed, Pissing Razors, Sick of it all, early Biohazard, then MERAUDER is a must for you. Buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid, Underhyped Metallic Hardcore Release, September 6, 2006
This review is from: Master Killer (Audio CD)
Merauder was one of the most solid crossover bands of the later 90's, and their debut album, "Master Killer", is no exception. This is genuine REAL hardcore, the stuff that was (and still is) devoid of trends and "stayed true". As with any hardcore release, this is a great CD to get the blood pumping to. With tracks like "Time Ends" and "Master Killer" that show the band's impressive drumming and shoutouts, this is a hardcore CD that won't bore you very quick. Find it if you can. I highly recommend it to the casual hardcore or crossover fan.

Also, R.I.P. SOB. It's tragic to hear about your loss.

5.0 out of 5 stars TOUGH AS IT GETS, September 6, 2004
This review is from: Master Killer (Audio CD)
This album is simply put as tough as hardcore gets. MASTER KILLER is the soundtrack for pure anger. Put it on and practice your mosh moves in your living room. Brood about how bad life is. Real deal hardcore from the mean streets of NYC played by a bunch of mexicans. When you're ready to experiance the ultimate beat-down... get this record.

I read a review acclaiming this album as the greatest thing to happen to American metal in 1996, etc., etc., needless to say I picked it up. Yawn. Another bunch of Biohazard/Black Flag wannabes with their predictable riffage and bleeding heart lyrics. The production is fine and some of the music shows promise, but the unfounded arrogance prevalent (especially in the laughable liner notes) set a bad backdrop from the get-go. Whether or not this band still exists is not clear, perhaps the fact I have never heard anything about them since Master Killer should tell me something. Don't waste your money on this--- 2, 3, maybe 4 listens and you'll file it away forever.
