Just picking something up shouldn't break it.

I even bent one of the keys trying to unlock it the first time; I've jiggled it every way possible and the lock won't lock.

Solidly constructed and professional looking file box that works very well indeed.

This box is perfectly satisfactory if you want something cubicle in shape that locks from the outside in which to store files or other small items of a personal nature. This box is not fire-proof nor does it claim to be. In fact, I'd say this is a box that is aware of and comfortable with its limitations. It has a quiet dignity. The lock is a little hard to manipulate, but it is a lock after all. If it were easy to open, what kind of lock would it be? I paid around $15 for this item and at that price, I'm happy with it, not that the box needs my approval the feel good about itself.

Well there's not much for me to say in my review, it is, afterall, only a box. But it's actually perfect for storing papers or folders.

It's not fire-proof, so if you're looking for something like that, this isn't it. It is very sturdy, however. Solid metal casing, great black color. Nothing about it says expensive, but it's not a cheap mess. It comes with two keys.

So.. yeah, if you're like me and you just needed a box with a lock to store whatever you might need, then this is great. I couldn't be happier!

Solidly constructed and professional looking file box that works very well indeed. The lock is surprisingly effective and secure. This is an excellent value and well worth the modest investment.

If you are looking for a replacement for a vault- this is not it.
I was just looking for a sturdy box to hold hanging files so I would not need a whole filing cabinet. This more than meets my needs and I am now planning on getting another in the near future!

Looks like exactly what I wanted. Then I hung the folders on the rails and they fall off the back. The hanging rails are too short by about 3/8" and allow the hanging file folders to fall off the back senting them to the bottom of the box. Too bad this was exactly what I wanted in a file box, too bad that is the only thing is cannot be used as.
Very poor design or maybe a manufacturing flaw.

The box is ok, however, the lock is garbage. It feels really sloppy, half the time you can't get it to lock or unlock. VERY unhappy.

Complete fail. Flimsy, falling apart, barely stays locked, and I'm afraid every time I lock it that something will deform and I won't be able to get my files back out.

This file box lost its handle within the first 5 uses; the little metal clips holding the handle in place don't lock in any way, and the gap on one side quickly widens under stress so that the handle slips out of place.

Additionally, the latch is made of such flimsy material that all it takes to bend it is to try and close the lid while the lid (oh, and the hinge isn't so great either) isn't completely perfectly lined up with the box. It bent right back with very little pressure. That can't be secure.

I carry this box once a week too and from an office location, a whole 40 feet from my car to where I set it down; I only use it for files and papers, nothing heavier. I have not been hard on it. Just picking something up shouldn't break it.
