Excellent product to get if you want to properly secure something in the back of your pickup truck. Only one is needed.

This lock is easy to install and easier to use. It's handy when you need it, not under the tool box out of reach and it stays put out of the way when not in use.

Master Lock continues to introduce new products that are very practical.
I bought this lock and installed it in my 2002 Chev pickup. With a cable and this lock I can now lock my ladder and large tools in the bed of my truck.
I found this lock after I had a ladder taken from a job site when we went to lunch.
This lock is a must have for all contractors or sportsmen.

Master lock has come up with a great lock with the 8287DAT Bed U-Lock.

My only gripe is that it was not available for my truck, a 1999 Ford Ranger. A certified welder/friend fabricated a mounting for my truck so I could use this system.

The people at the Master Lock phone # were not able to help tell me if it fit my truck , only that it would fit a Ford F series, GMC/Chevy 1500/2500, Toyota Tundra, Dodge Ram & Dakota.

The package pictured in the add is not of good picture quality, so that you can read the applications for this lock. After buying the lock here on AMAZON, ( A GREAT PLACE to find things and get them NOW ! ), I found it possessed all the quality that is a Master Lock, and I set out to make it work for me.

I needed a way to lock my quad up when in the back of my truck, rather than add a U-Bolt that someone could just unbolt I opted for this. My Dodge Ram had a perfect spot to mount this that would allow access to allen screw under the lock. Simply drilling two holes and using the extra steel plate included for stake pocket mounting I was able to secure inside the bed with easy access to the key and removing it if ever needed in 2 minutes.
You need the key to lock this, once you rotate key the cylinder retracts allowing clasp to open, but you need the key to move the clasp back, it is not spring loaded like smaller padlocks.

Lock is easily installed, folds out of the way, and provides added security for cargo when used with an appropriately sized chain or cable. A "must have" accessory when hauling expensive tools/equipment in your pickup bed.

I've had this lock for well over a year and it's worked great. I have it installed on a 2010 Ford F150. I was initially concerned about how it would hold up in the elements, no worries now. It is sealed well and has not had any problems. I would recommend this to anyone.
