I hestitated buying a secure lock on the internet. Boy was I wrong. This is a top quality lock. built very secure. Looks really nice.The deadbolt goes clear into the main frame of the door. My metal door is now quite secure. It would take a mighty blow to knock my door in now.Easy to put in,included a template that made it easy to match up to frame.

I didn't expect this level of quality for the price of this doorknob. After cringing at the thought of paying $50 for a decent doorknob and dead bolt, this was my only hope. The locks are very sturdy and they feel that way when you turn the knob or dead bolt. The finish is superb- quality I would expect of a much more expensive set. Installation was easy. I would buy this doorknob set again, but I doubt I will ever be required to do so- it looks and feels as if it will out live me.

I ordered the locks due to the great reviews. I bought 2 sets. One for the front, one for the back door. It is nice that they are all keyed the same. Very easy universal installation. Don't hesitate to order, you won't regret it.

If you're using a power driver - Start everything by hand. Don't over-tighten the bolts, it may cause the body of the knob to tighten unevenly resulting in sticky operation (latch won't snap back).
Also remember to use lower speed to move the bolts and be careful not to nick the doorknob with the driver bit during installation -- it helps to have a magnetic driver extension to get into the bolts diagonally, if you will, with respect to the axis of the knob.

Doorknob : be careful not to install the latch upside down, it has an up designation.
Also, I found that the latchset fits better with the 'floating sleeve' on it, and fits slugly.

Latch : However, during one installation, I accidentally moved the spindle cam somehow and may have misaligned the latch hardware, because as I was inserting the latch I depressed the strike, and as the latch was moving past the floating sleeve into the 1" (horizontal) hole in the door, the floating sleeve became misaligned ( there is a small groove in it that allows the insertion ) and moved one of the levers as I forced it past the sleeve. Hrrmmmph. The handle wouldn't turn all the way left from the outside. The strike didn't come all the way out. I had to disassemble it.

Once I disassembled it - back to the directions - I was able to work the backset directions to adjust backset distance a couple of times and work the spindle cam as i depressed the srike, to try to fix the spindle cam which had the misalignment. Messing with the backset distance and the cam fixed it. Reassembled and installed as usual perfectly.
So be careful when installing the set, that you don't make my mistake, and make a faulty installation. Don't touch the backset or the spindle cam during insertion.

Deadbolt : as long as you insert the torque blade horizontally you should be good to go (once again follow directions).

Strikeplate : on one installation, the door was so misaligned, that I couldn't use the new strikeplate, the hole was too small. I had to keep the old one which was a larger hole.

Directions provided for this item were good.
Remove the key code label from the packaging so you can order duplicates, and to protect security.

I bought this to replace a faulty "Schlage" set which was purchased brand new for $99. This Master lockset was about $24, so it was a lot cheaper. The set comes with 4 keys, with oversized "heads" for the keys. This is a great set. It's hefty, solid, and comes with lots of components. The set was installed into the old door slot with no problems, I didn't have to adjust the door at all. The knob and latch move easily, unlike many I've seen. I would purchase this in a heartbeat!

Great locks! Strong and sturdy. No problems installing them or using them. I ordered 3 sets of these from Amazon and I got the same key code for all 3 sets. I think Amazon may have matched them on purpose or I just got lucky. Either way, very satisfied. :)

I needed to replace my old lock because the deadbolt was sluggish and I didn't want to have two separate keys (so I ordered this whole set).

The Master Lock TUCO0605 came in many pieces in a hard shell plastic packaging. To my surprise the manufacturer included 4 keys (all the same).
Installation was quite simple and took me about 20-30 minutes. Tools needed: Screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver and a tongue. Maybe you don't need the tongue but my lock had a steel frame/plate on the outside with a hole for the old doorknob (which had two 'noses' that didn't fit the two screw-stems of the new one so I had to bend them inwards). If you don't have this metal plate on your door - forget about the tongue.

The deadbolt has a key side and a lever to turn around (lock/unlock) on the other side (the side you can not see in the official product photos). You can actually reverse the two sides so it doesn't matter in which direction your door opens.

The doorknob unit also has a key side and a lever (lock/unlock) on the other side. Same as with the deadbolt, you can reverse it.

The key works the following way on the doorknob unit (same with the lever on the inside - just reverse):
* Turn the key 90° clockwise and the doorknob is locked. You cannot turn it anymore. If you close the door now you could lock yourself out.
* Turn the key 90° counterclockwise and the doorknob is unlocked. Now you can turn it. In this mode you can open and close the door without a key.
* Turn the key ~180° counterclockwise and the doorknob is unlocked and the door opens as if you would turn the doorknob.

QUALITY: Pretty good for ~$25. It's solid and about the same quality feel of every other doorknob I have ever used. I guess you could buy better quality with more money for an even smoother key fit/movement, but I'm totally satisfied. The doorknob is a tiny bit loose (you can rattle it a bit if you like), but for that price I don't expect it to be precisely crafted as a Swiss watch.

I bought this to replace a 20 year old deadbolt in an existing door. This lock has an adjustable mechanism that is supposed to make this lock able to replace any manufactures lock. A piece of spring steel came out of the deadbolt assembly when I was trying to install it in the door and got completely mangled when I pulled the assembly back out of the door. Without the spring I am unable to get the deadbolt into the my door in the proper configuration to fit my door. The internals of this lock are made from stamped metal and it seems pretty flimsy compared to the lock I was replacing, so I have decided to toss this lock and go shopping for something a little sturdier.

Just recived this Today an im suprised its so heavy duty worth the money:-) think of buying another lock soon

Review of Master Lock TUC00605.
This is a very good lock set, it is as good as or even better than the more expensive lock sets that I was considering. Installing was very easy, it was a replacement of a worn out lock set.
Would buy another one if I needed another lock set. Also, nice to have 4 keys included.
