I studied this book for approximately 2 months prior to the PSB examination for entry into Nursing school here in Pittsburgh. The standards are quite high and this book came recommended by the school for prep. I usually find that the school's choices for entry are either WAY too lengthy or not lengthy enough. This book was the perfect balance between the two, in regards to the science portion. I marked it one star down because the outline format, while helpful to some, is a bit of a drawback in the explanation factor and doesn't actually give diagrams or shows anything that would help things stick (for all you visual folks like me). Other than that drawback, BUY IT! It's worth it's money in gold! P.S. I hadn't seen the inside of a biology book in 13 years and it brought everything back and got me into Nursing school!

I originally bought this book because it offered a bit more questions than some of the other titles out there. Once I started going through the book and actually reviewing the content I found the information to be incredibly helpful. Questions that I had difficulty answering were thoroughly explained. As an added bonus to this book and one that will have huge payoffs in the future was the section that explained the financial aid process. I knew there was money out there for schooling; however in my case I didn't really know where to start looking. Now I know EXACTLY where to begin. I must say I am pleasantly pleased and then some with this purchase!

I bought this book in hopes that it would help me with the Nursing Entrance Test (NET). It's a great book if you want to do more than what is on your nursing entrance test. My entrance test only included reading comprehension, grammar, and math. It had some random A&P, psychology, and chemistry questions at the end but they didn't count toward entrance into the program. Find out which company your school uses for their Nursing Entrance Test and they will most likely have a practice booklet with practice tests and rationales. Sometimes they offer more practice tests for a fee. What is it worth to you? I bought this book and after falling asleep many times trying to read it, I broke down and bought the study guide from the company that does the test. I purchased the practice test and was able to take it over and over again for 30 days with explanations of the correct/incorrect answer. I made a 79 on the NET test w/a Superior rating (school average is 59) and was extremely happy with that. If you have lots of time, want more practice, and you are tired of the same practice test from that company than get this book.
A little hint for nursing students: no more memorization of terms. It's all about applying the concepts (understanding what you read and choosing the BEST answer).

this book was easy to understand and read, and it goes into detail about the things that one needs to study for a test, I would advise anyone who needs this book to get it before that big test that's coming up you will not be sorry.

This book isn't that great. It is assumed that you remember all of the information you have previously learned in your prerequisite courses to the nursing program. Well, it's been several years since I had taken a class. Although, somethings I was able to remember but not all. I found the Barron's How to Prepare for the Nursing School Entrance Exams 2nd edition at the library to be a much better study tool. This book gives you a review of the subject matter as well as the formulas for math and geometry equations. I was really upset that this book had been chosen over the Barrons booklet. It was then that I realized what was actually missing. A review of the subject matter. The Barron's booklet alleviated the frustration of having to sift through old course notes. I highly recommend Barrons.

i bought this from a bookstore for 26.00. what a waste of cheese. there are several mistakes in this book and this was really frustrating for me. the first mistake i discovered was in the math section. as someone who is older and hasnt taken a math class in years, i spent hours on this and had several other people attempt it also. we all got the same answer and it was not the correct answer in the book. i have to wonder if the editors were drunk at work. btw, you can totally kill this book with a .22 caliber bullet so its not good for anything.

Good book! Covers lots and lots of material! Was in good condition. Exactly what I was expecting and more!

A good review with multiple mock-tests and some good revies of basic alg and geo as well as science, anatomy, vocab and reading comp.

Book was brand new. I emailed at one point to check on the status of the shipment, prompt response. Will order from this seller again.
