5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent read, gothic romantic suspense set in Cornwall, April 8, 2001

One day lovely Angela Todd was a seamstress struggling to survive in London; the next she was the owner of Dower House,a cottage in Cornwall (after a distant relative died, leaving her the home). However someone wants Angela out of the house, a series of frightening pranks and threats begin. Angela also has to choose between two suitors; gentle Greg Ingram, the local schoolmaster and arrogant Roderick Mellory, master of Phoenix Hall. Who is so desperate to get Angela out of Phoenix Hall? Why? Which man will she choose? There are excellent plot twists, characters are well developed & great dialogue. Great (& not predictable) ending, too. This book is a definite must have!
