the very best selection of barbara 's work ! who is the most important female songwriter of the 20° century ! But don't forget she also wrote albums like "la louve", "l'album à la rose", "le mal de vivre", "la fleur d'amour"...she was also a very impressive (much more than <gainsbourg for instance who had much less presence and success than barbara when he toured with her, then he gave up!= ) artist on stage : her most impressive song behind her piano, concentrated like a "pythie" being "le soleil noir"!

A few years ago I was in a kitchen store on the Left Bank and heard the most wonderful singing on a recording. I asked the shopkeeper who that was and she said "Barbara" with a look of amazement that I didn't know. I went to a music store, wondering "Barbara who?" and then found this album along with several others. I bought this and it continues to be one of my favorites of my hundreds of CDs. If you love a beautiful voice, if you love emotion, if you love Paris, then you will love this album.
