Initially a little afraid that I wouldn't be able to understand the many sections of the book that are heavy on "new thought" philosophy, the Master Key System quickly put me at ease with the way it was laid out - each chapter starts out with a helpful, friendly letter of introduction from author Charles Haanel and ends with a straightforward, tangible meditation "exercise" meant to encourage creativity and abstract thought. Also at the end of each chapter is a miniature quiz on the contents that preceded it, which is the only place where the Master Key reads like a textbook. They're helpful, though, as every now and again you may find yourself a little lost & the quizzes help you focus a little more. The book doesn't read like it was written in 1912, that's for certain... vastly ahead of its time in the methods of self help it endorses, I'd recommend this book to anyone looking for a self-help book written more recently. Forget about the bandwagon-jumpers and go back to where it started.

I think Haanel's work trumps Wattles work. The eloquent language and the beautiful prose of this book makes you feel romantically enraptured with the concepts of meditation and visualization in a way no other author has. This book is older so you may find it more of a laborious read than some of the books of late, but if you want to really master practices like employing law of attraction to create your life and visualization to attract what you desire you have to learn meditation - that's just a fact.

Haanel talks about the "sun center" - which is the solar plexus in other words, and he explains the power of Light and how to quiet your mind. These concepts and practices are a must if you want mastery - if you want to be a successful law of attraction practitioner.

This is the quintessential "how to" for all life mastery practices.

The Master Key System By Charles Haanel is a newly released version of a classic "Think Yourself to Success" title with additional material.

Each chapter is short (2-3 pages) and each ends with an exercise to practice every day for a week, as well as a "self-test" of questions related to material in the chapter.

The material itself is similar to what you would find in some flavors of New Age Spirituality, or books such as "The Secret". The exercises include things such as learning mental stillness, physical & mental relaxation, mental focus, creative visualisation, affirmations, forging an understanding or connection with imminence (which he calls the Universal Mind, and later God), creating one's own happiness, and so on. The book's thesis is that though training your mind in creative visualization and the law of attraction, you can be happier, healthier, richer, etc.

Some of the material, particularly in the later chapters could be considered somewhat preachy or cultish but overall, the lessons and instructions for training your self-awareness are a perfectly valid tool for self-improvement.

The Master Key System by Charles Haanel is a fantastic book for anyone looking for inspiration to improve the quality of their life. A previous review states that this book is hard to read because of the size of the font used, but I encountered no difficulty. At this price, you get a real bargain for the amount and quality of information offered. This edition is a definite improvement compared to the other editions out there - it has been polished for grammatical correctness and contains four additional chapters that no other edition has. I'm very satisfied with this book.

My husband got me this book for a present. I thought that it was very thorough and easy to understand. I also thought that it was very easy to read as well. I do not know what the other reviewer was thinking that said that it was hard to read. Maybe they need some new glasses? Anyway, I was very impressed with how much information was packed into this little book. It was a steal for the money. I can not wait until another book comes out by the author will definitely buy it.

This is an excellent tool for success. I don't know how the book compares to other editions, but I am pleased with this one. It includes 28 lessons, a letter from the author at the begining of each lesson, and an encouraging foreword. The format (font) may be annoying to some readers. But, it doesn't take away from the wealth of information provided. This book gives the same, and perhaps more infomation than it's predecessors selling for much more. You could purchase other products that regurgitate the same ideas, but I prefer to get it from the horses mouth; the founder of this "New Thought" movement. Still, if I could find an original copy, I would definitely check it out and see how much if any difference there is.

This was a gift and they said that it was hard to start but once in you could not put it down.

The book is unlike any other...


Interesting, and a master piece of all ages is the Master Key System. The book gives good insight into two worlds which are part of our every day life; "The world withing and without". The book describes each world and gives you dominance of your thoughts, which intern molds your surrounding.

The Master Key System is much more than a book, my words cant simply cant describe.

As of yet, I am on the third lesson, each one taking a week. I cannot yet tell you of all the glories that I have manifested. However, I am in fact trusting that this IS The Key. I have studied psychology as a professional for decades, am an expert in various areas including cognitive therapy and relaxation therapies, and am certified in EFT and hypnosis. I use these modalities for myself, and also engage in religious and esoteric practice and thought. Charles Haanel's slim volume is the first to explain the WHY and HOW STEP by STEP. It involves firstly control of the physical body, and that having been mastered, proceeds. It is serious, scholarly, and well-ordered. It describes the nature of thought,and the 2 centers of thought, the brain and solar plexus. It is the first manuscript that I have seen outside of Hindu works identifying the solar plexus as the seat of will. One systematically develops control over the conscious and the subconscious mind. The conscious directs the subconscious, which provides the power. My one criticism is that Mr. Haanel does not get specific methods for stopping thoughts or for ridding oneself of negative thoughts. However, my own background in professional and self-help methodologies works well here. I am working with a small group. We use conversation with mutual support, NLP, EFT and Michael Losier's version of LOA with contrast, clarity and allowing. Additionally, we do Nichiren Buddhist chanting which provides for personal prayers and the granting of personal desires. If you aren't familiar with the Law of Attraction, this may be a hard read. Master Key System is life changing and I just love Charles Haanel.
