Great for the newbie,
By Jeff Dosser (Broken Arrow, Ok United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Master VISUALLY FrontPage 2002 (Paperback)
This book is GREAT for newbies and AWFUL for the techie. It goes step by step visually on every task and I mean EVERY TASK. If you are familiar with Microsoft's suite of tools and menu item formats you will soon become bored. If you are a developer or web expert you'll find yourself flipping past pages and chapters to find what you want. HOWEVER, if you are unfamiliar with the web and website development THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU. Completely failsafe, each step is spelled out, easy to understand and easy to follow. With this book ANYONE can build a full featured nice looking website.

I read many a book to help me with Front Page 2002. I was able to use this manual to develop a website for a customer by using this book. It was perfect and explained every aspect of Front Page and even allowed me to cheat a little bit and make my web page look very professional. I have never seen such a well explained instruction manual like this before on a piece of software.
Now I did see the one they did for Dreamweaver and it was not comprehensive and I was disappointed. But I guess for Dreamweaver the book would have to be 12" thick or a three for four volume edition. If they did a comprehensive book on Dreamweaver it would be on my book shelf now. But all in all the Master Visually series is an excellent one. |
