Book Description

April 4, 2006
Hailed as “exhilarating,”* “ passionate and hot,”** USA Today bestselling author Angela Knight’s supercharged romances combine heated passion with non-stop action. And she’s back with more werewolves and vampires—in a story too hot to handle… Jim London is outraged over the death of his friend, a fellow bounty hunter and werewolf—and thinks the police department of nearby Clarkston cooked up a phony story about Tony’s murder. The only way to find out is to go undercover. And, in his wolf form, Jim can do that better than anybody...

There’s one complication, though. The new police-dog handler, Faith Weston, is sexy enough to bring out the animal in any man…

More About the Author

I've been writing erotic romance since 1996, when my first novella appeared in Secrets Vol. 2. In June, 2004, Jane's Warlord, my first novel, was published, followed by FOREVER KISS in July, 2004 the antho HOT BLOODED in September, and MASTER OF THE NIGHT in October. MASTER OF THE MOON, my next book, hit the USA Today list for three weeks, much to my amazement. Since then I've been writing like a lunatic and having a wonderful time.

I've been married to a wonderful man for more than twenty years now. He's a senior investigator with our county sheriff's office. As a result, I know an awful lot of cops, which is one reason I love putting police procedural elements in my fiction. I also spent ten years as a reporter, which gave me a collection of war stories you would not believe.

My husband Mike and I have one son, Anthony, who is in his twenties now.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Rush! April 4, 2006
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Angela Knight has brought her Mageverse series into full shining glory with this latest installment. Blending the perfect mix of erotic romance, fascinating characters and pulse pounding action, "Master of Wolves" is the best and most solid read that Knight has penned yet. A brief quote on the cover calls her a "rising star". How wrong they are. She's already a star shining very brightly in the romance book industry and her latest book is sure to please any fan of the paranormal subgenre.

Faith Weston is a dedicated K-9 officer with the Clarkston, NC police department. When she gets an anonymous donation of a fully trained police dog she's not about to look a gift horse in the mouth. Soon she and her new friend Rambo are busting drug abusers and all seems well within the confines of the small town. Rumors abound though of the town's jail, tales of people going in and not coming out alive. Such occurances are one reason Jim London has come town. He's set on finding his fellow werewolf's murderer and he comes up with the plan to go undercover - as Faith's furry sidekick Rambo. What he doesn't count on is her no-nonsense sense of justice, sexy body and honest heart. With death magic looming everywhere and a police department turned rogue, Faith won't stand down till she's solved the mystery. Just as adamate that Faith will not be harmed, Jim has no choice but to reveal himself to her. Faith and Jim will have to team up to find out who has the town's police in there thrall and when the going gets tough, the tough will get furry.

Fast-paced, action-packed and full of great signature Knight style romance, her latest is packing what everyone has come to love about her books. From the first page till the last, you will not want to put this one down. Faith is a great heroine. She's strong, independant, loyal and passionate. She's a little heart sore as well, but that's where Jim comes in. Readers will feel good about Faith's welfare with the sexy alpha Dire Wolf looking over her. He may be alpha, but he's not afraid to let Faith in on the action. He's charming, to-die-for drool worthy and all of Faith's descriptions about his butt...well, let me get back on track here. Together, they make one of the more enjoyable romance couples I've read about in a while. While both are jump-right-into-the-action types they still make plenty of room for each other, sharing the roles of hero and heroine equally. The opposition (a.k.a. the "bad guys") was equally as interesting and actually gave Jim and Faith a run for their money. I loved every minute of Knight's latest and still did not want to see it come to an end. Not that I didn't love her others in the series, but "Master of Wolves" lands them all solidly on my keeper shelf. Stay tuned for the next in the series, "Master of Swords" (Oct. '06) about Sir Gawain. Excellent tale, Ms. Knight. Many sighs of sated romance reading appreciation!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as her others April 20, 2006
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I pre-ordered this and was excited to start reading. Unfortunately, the book didn't live up to my expectations or her promise (based on the others in the series). My issues are: 1) Jim the werewolf is the only one to notice that not only has an evil vamp chick come to this small town, but the entire police department is in cahoots with the evil vamp chick (no one else notices?? She's suckin' on these guys' necks, showing up at the jail, rebuilding the town's rundown, haunted plantation, brutally murdering folks and ripping their hearts out behind bars--- saloons not jail --- but no one notices?); 2) Jim shape-shifts to human and pretty much *boom* he and the heroine are in love; 3) mediocre sex scenes --- and Angela Knight usually writes absolute scorchers. It's not a terrible book, but it didn't add to the series for me. Hopefully, she'll get her groove back for the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fabulous book by Angela Knight.... April 4, 2006
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Angela Knight's Mageverse series has quickly become one of my favorites! In the Mageverse, there several groups of supernatural beings- witches, werewolves, the Sidhe, and vampires. The good vampires consist of characters from the King Arthur legends and refer to themselves as the Magus. Vampires are created by drinking blood from a grail; the original Magus drank from Merlin's grail. Unfortunately, several black grails exist and one witch, Celestine, has chosen to create her own following in Clarkston, SC. Werewolf Tony Shay becomes a victim for Celestine's quest for power and his childhood friend, Jim London, heads undercover to Clarkston. Of course, undercover means he is in the guise of a German Shepard K-9 dog for Officer Faith Weston! Faith knows something is wrong in Clarkston, particularly with the police department, but she is unaware of all of the supernatural aspects. Celestine and cop-turned-werewolf Keith Reynolds try to steal the grail from another vampire in NY (Korbal) and the fight that ensues results in Faith being called to the scene to investigate. Unfortunately, Faith is bitten by Reynolds and Jim has to help her through the change into a werewolf. Faith still doesn't believe the entire department is involved until she and Jim overhear Faith's own Chief of Police planning her capture and death. Faith must come to grips with her new role as one of the Dire Kind and her feelings for Jim while she and Jim work together to stop Celestine's plan. Characters from previous novels do reappear in this book but this can be read as a stand alone novel. Angela Knight has done an excellent job at taking several overdone myths and making them fresh, new and exciting. Highly recommended!
