Jillian does a great job of not only addressing the quantity of food but also the quality of food. You may get the same amount of calories from eating an Apple & Almonds vs. a Snickers bar but one meal will lead to health and the other disease. Overall a great little book!

The book is good but sort of unorganized. I'm mildly disappointed about the restaurant section of the book.. would like to of seen the space used for something else, maybe more extensive fruit and veggie section. If you are into Jillian enough you know she doesn't even want you going there in the first place. I mean in the book master your metabolism, she tells you to get rid of friends that make you eat crap, drink, and smoke! LoL. This book isn't going to get as much use as I thought it was going to.

I like the concept of this book, and appreciate the advice given in the first portion. It is interesting an useful. The counter portion, however, if broken down into categories, then poorly-labled sub-categories, then alphabetized. Finding the item is a process at best, and frequently the item is not available. Stick with getting advice from books dedicated just to that, and get your self a good nutritional counter that is alphabetized only.

I didn't like the setup or anything about The Master Your Metabolism Calorie Counter book. It was not at all what I expected it to be. The set-up in it is far from easy and there is no index in the back of book to find what you are looking for. The CalorieKing is much easier to deal w/ then this one. Do Not waste your money buying this product as it is very difficult to find what you are looking for. If you have time to look up stuff in the whole book then might be alright, but I didn't want to waste my time trying to search through book for what I wanted. This was a waste of my money. I was disappointed in it. I've bought a few of her other books and loved them, but this one I hated.

On the pro side: She does offer good nutritional advice, although much of it should already be common knowledge.

On the con side: The book is very unorganized with a poor table of contents and no index, making it very difficult to locate specific items. Worse, the book has errors in nutritional information, and omissions of some common foods. I just tossed my copy in the trash and ordered another book which seems to be more complete and alphabetized.

Most people would use this book by flipping thru pages and looking at the top right hand corner to find a certain chapter, which this lacks. dumb. threw it out and so will you.

It is a good and quick reference guide to accompany the Master Your Metabolism book. I like that fact that it gives you the counts for calories, fat, carbs, sodium, protein and fiber, so that you can use this guide for any healthier eating plan that you decide to adopt.

Jillian Michaels explains the whats, whys, whens, and hows of food being processed inside the body, of hormones doing good and bad things, and of dangerous outside agents such as pesticides and household cleaners that adversely affect our health. She tells what we should and should not eat or use, when we should or should not eat, how to lose weight safely or just to maintain weight with optimum health, and so much more. This book is of the utmost importance to my health and will remain on my shelf of faves. It contains such critical info that, shortly after receiving my own copy, I ordered copies for my grown children so that we can improve health for ourselves, our spouses, and my grandchildren. This book should be required reading for every adult and every family. It's not to be missed!

I have used many different calorie counters in the past, but this one exceeds them all. This book contains fat, carbs and protien counts for every food listed. Very helpful since most books leave out protien. It also contains a quick reference guide of chemicals and additives to avoid. This is invaluabe. I take it with me every time I go to the grocery store or out to eat. If you liked Master Your Metablolism, this is a must have addition.
