I received this product in November 2008 for my birthday, and I LOVE it! It's ease of use, as well as the various ways it can be used, make it an 'all-in-one' product! For grilling, it works like any propane/charcoal grill for the patio. For smoking, it allows those of us who don't want to take forever the opportunity to cook with ease. You can use either propane, wood, or both to get smoked food. I started with a boston butt (since it's so forgiving), but I was able to smoke a turkey for Thanksgiving on my second try!

The stainless steel version is tougher than the powder-coated one, and that's the one I recommend.

I've owned a Brinkman Charcoal Smoker for a couple of years now, but the Masterbuilt is far superior and so much easier to use. It's made of heavy guage stainless steel, and using propane is so much easier to keep a constant temperature than charcoal. You can basically just "set and forget!" the temp. With charcoal, you constantly have to keep adding more, and they use alot of charcoal, too. The side shelf is a plus to have. Overall quality is excellent!! A DEFFINATE RECOMMENT PRODUCT !!
