The Masterbuilt electric veranda grill is the prefect mate for condo and apartment-style living. A high-powered grill in a space-saving design, the grill is easy to assemble and even easier to use. Simply plug the grill in, set the temperature control dial, and you're ready to start grilling.
The veranda grill offers plenty of cooking space. Push the domed lid back to reveal a porcelain-coated cooking grate with more than 200 square inches of cooking surface--enough to cook for a family of four or a complete meal for two. You can cook multiple hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, or steaks on the grill at once, and even an ear of corn or two.
A foolproof adjustable temperature dial powers the grill's 1,650-watt cooking element, which heats up in no time. The element fits perfectly under the cooking grate to ensure even, consistent cooking. The grill also includes a built-in stainless-steel temperature gauge on the lid, so you'll know whether you're cooking at the right temperature or the grill is heating consistently.
The electric grill is CSA-certified safe and is approved for use in most apartments and condos, even ones where charcoal and gas grills aren't allowed. The thermostat temperature control also keeps your grill from overheating. And the grill couldn't be easier to clean thanks to the convenient drip cup at the back of the grill. The drip cup collects drippings from the food while it cooks, making cleanup easy and carefree.

Several years ago we ordered a Masterbuilt Electric Veranda Grill. It looked great and would heat to about 450-500F but then promptly cool down. You could get a semi-decent sear on meat if you opened the lid, quickly threw the meat on and slammed the lid shut. Over time it started to lose heating capacity so we ordered a replacement heating element and plug. This did not help so we ordered a new unit. It arrived today and after I spent 30 minutes assembling it noticed it was more cheaply constructed than the previous grill and will not heat above 325F. I have discovered there is a hidden but major design flaw in these units. When the top is closed there is a gap in the back from which the heat escapes. On the upside, Amazon promptly sent a return authorization for UPS and I have been credited for the unit without any hassle.Update of May 2011: A few months ago I purchased the Meco 9300 Electric Tabletop Grill and have found it to be excellent in every respect. Heats quickly, sears and cooks beautifully, is well-built but affordable. I have also written a review on the Meco and would recommend it instead of the Masterbuilt Electric Grill.

I've had this sitting on my patio for almost 2 years and have only used it a handful of times. It doesn't get hot enough or evenly hot. It doesn't do a good job cooking and takes forever. It also shorts my fuse box if I have it on with any lights on, etc. That are on the same circuit. I need to take it to the dumpster.

Excellent product. Bought it for a friend who lives in a condo that doesn't allow gas grills. They use it constantly, looks and tastes just like it was grilled on a gas grill. Highly recommended!
