The 1/16" vertical side supports do not support the vertical 2" riser very well, side to side.

The tube of the shaft of the adapter is about .22" thick and is about 1.99" across the flats. The side plates are about 1/16" thick. The ball mount is about ¾" thick. The ball mount hole is about 1.04" in diameter. The distance between the mounting pin on the shaft and the mounting pin hole for the hitch haul, are about 10 inches apart.

For me, to make the "best fit", I shortened the shaft about 4 inches and drilled a new mount pin hole 5 inches forward of the original hole on the shaft. I welded metal shims on the sides of the shaft to tighten up the fit of the shaft in my receiver. Since the item was usable but not the "best fit", for my application without modification, I gave it 4 stars.

It does the job, is simply engineered (no joints to break), is very sturdy, and sticks out far enough. The only thing to be aware of is that there isn't much clearance for the shaft it receives, I needed to cut about a 2" angle off the end of mine. But if the shaft isn't too long this will hold it securely up or down, with no more wiggle than if was secured by the underbody hitch you already have.

The top pin was just a touch off for what I wanted to use it for. Replacing the pin for a bolt took care of issue.

I use this folding receiver bar on my motorhome to carry a cargo basket. Unfortunately it is about 3 inches too short to allow my cargo basket to fold up 90 degrees without touching the RV bumper. My RV hitch is slightly recessed under the RV's bumper so when I attempt to fold the cargo basket it touches the bumper at about a 70 degree angle. This folding receiver bar needs to be about 3" to 4" longer. Multiple (2 or more) lock pin holes would also be useful at the end of the bar used to secure the bar to the hitch to adjust the length of the bar protruding out from the hitch for various attachments, such as a cargo basket. Otherwise this is a durable and well built product.

The receiver portion is sized a bit small to fit in a standard class III hitch. It has some play, you will notice this if you are hooked on to anything. The 1/16" vertical side supports do not support the vertical 2" riser very well, side to side.
