I am an HVAC tech that needed a cheap vacuum pump for side work. I ordered this one and it works just fine. I doesn't work nearly as fast as some other name brand 6-CFM pumps I use at work. Although, for 1/3 of the price- it can't be beat. I would buy another one.

I specifically bought this pump as a source of vacuum for my homemade milking machine. It has worked well in that aspect for over a year now. It's either the cheapest or one of the cheapest 6 cfm pumps you can find anywhere. I would recommend it as a good starter vacuum pump.

I purchased this vacuum pump to for my home garage since I couldnt find one to rent or borrow. I would rather just have my own tools anyway. After much studying and shopping I decided on this pump here at Amazon. It works as intended and vacuumed my buick LeSabre down in less than 30 minutes, and is not too loud. I cant recommend this pump enough. Well worth the money.

I've just completed installing and properly tuning a split system air conditioner and evaporator coil to work with my existing gas furnace. I bought the equipment, the R410a, and about $1000 worth of specialty tools (no shortcuts) - almost all online (95% Amazon). I did this - after loads of research - because I wanted to ensure that my specific installation wishes would be fulfilled. And I still saved $1500 over the lowest bid (and that guy completely ignored a specific request).

This vacuum pump easily evacuated my 2 ton system with 33' lines (3/4 and 3/8) down to 300 microns in less than half an hour. For the price, I'm thrilled. I also feel it is pretty good quality, and I'm happy to have it around. If you need to get a lower vacuum than that, I believe you need a 2 stage model.

The one thing I don't like is that this model (like their other one-stage models) is that it does not have a shut-off valve, meaning as soon as you turn the pump off, your system returns to atmosphere unless you add one in-line or find another way to isolate your system while you wait to be sure the vacuum doesn't disappear with the pump shut off.

As someone else mentioned, I don't believe they supply the best oil available, and in this case it was just enough to fill it to max one time, and then it seemed to dispel some of the oil while I was running it a lot trying to get my vacuum gauge to work properly. So...buy some extra oil in case you need it.

I am using the Mastercool 90066-A Vacuum Pump sold and shipped by Amazon to vacuum out the bubbles (degas) from two-part silicone molding materials and urethane casting materials very successfully. We built a vacuum chamber from about 12 inches of 10 inch PVC pipe, half inch Lexan, and rubber gaskets. This pump takes less than a minute to pull down to 29.5 inches of mercury.

I like that it comes with a bottle of clear oil, though Mastercool seems to sell only a yellow oil. Not a big deal, but I do like the clear oil. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it is to fill the oil. It's also very easy to monitor the oil through a viewport.

Very happy with this purchase.

This pump comes with oil and runs fairly quiet. Pulls vacuum down fairly quickly. Shipped quickly. I'm happy with it so far.

The pump works great, I highly recommend this unit, I use it as for a hobby of mine so it is not used on a daily basis, but when I operate her, she performs as it is directed to,

>Features gas ballast to prevent oil contamination
Nope. This is the 90066-A pump which does not have the gas ballast. The advertising flier says "Gas ballast valve helps prevent oil contamination caused by high moisture (90066-2V-110 & 90070-2V-110)" So, the similarly named two stage version does have one, but not this single stage pump. See http://www.mastercool.com/media/VAC-PUMP-FLIER.pdf for accurate details of the features.

It's still a decent pump, and surprisingly quiet, but has no gas ballast. Also, as noted by other reviewers, the vent port is plastic instead of shiny metal as shown. The metal vent had a rubber cap that needed to be removed while the pump was in use but the plastic vent vents downwards and doesn't need an additional cover.

absolutely the best vacuum pump out there as far as I'm concerned. It did all and more than I expected. I am quite pleased with this product as well as the cube 3000 refrigerant recovery machine!!
