It doesn't get any better with true organic gardening. A tablespoon per gallon is enough to feed a number of plants all season long with a concentrate of this size container. Yes, it smells fishy -- it is a fish emulsion. Yes, a little goes a long way -- that's a good thing. It doesn't burn your plants from over/under feeding, but it's nutritent-rich enough that once a month is fine; nor does it cause distress or harm your plants -- all plants and vegetations seem to benefit from this natural fertilizer. One thing I will give warning to, and that's domestic pets love the smell of this and may dig up the plants if they smell it. Keep them away while watering the plants and it's not an issue just a few minutes later.

FYI: If you have a "mold or fungus" problem (like Pete MN in the previous review did,) I can tell you that is a totally unrelated to this fertilizer and not of this brew. Pete needs to check out his soil conditions - Moisture, darkness, and specific range of temperatures and soil conditions cause mildew and fungus -- not fish emulsion.

I've always preferred fish emulsion for a good, all-around fertilizer, stinky as it is. Works great! NO chemicals causing imbalances to screw up the soil. Use on houseplants, garden, anything growing in my yard. Try it!

The product seems to be exactly as advertised. It arrived promptly. I have used it and again, it is as advertised--smells like fish!! How does one tell, at this stage, whether a fertilizer product, applied this week, is going to produce the verdant growth that all gardeners dream about, but seldom achieve?? I trust that it will, but who knows whether the deer, the rabbits, the slugs, and a dozen other hazards will intervene. Using fish emulsion instead of 10-10-10 or some other bagged fertilizer makes sense to me, and it is much easier to use, so here goes!! The only reason I rate it with 4 instead of 5 stars is the uncertainty factor. Maybe I can give an update at the end of the growing season.
