5.0 out of 5 stars A worthwhile investment
This book provided me with the mechanism to move from Anvil to the world of Autocad. I found the book to be well laid out, providing sufficent tutorial, explanations and examples when used in conjunction with the program itself. This is not the kind of book that one can simply read and expect to become a ACAD user.

I've recently moved up to Autocad 2000 and have...

4.0 out of 5 stars Limited tutorial, August 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Mastering Autocad 14 for Windows 95 Nt (Paperback)
I've had no training in Autocad. I do not use Autocad in my line of work. I got it because I wanted to learn something new just for the "Heck of it". I bought the software, and then I bought this book. I've created my own "cheat sheets" with command shortcuts, and I find myself referring back to the book constantly. With this book alone I have learned how to navigate R14 to the extent that I can do most anything on a non-professional level... I would have liked the book to have included more lessons, but that is what college classes are for. Overall, I'm quite satisfied. Lots of knowledge with no regrets.

5.0 out of 5 stars All in one, February 1, 2000
This review is from: Mastering Autocad 14 for Windows 95 Nt (Paperback)
This book covers the spectrum from the layman, to the experienced professional looking to deepen his understanding of the tools available in Autocad14. It is usefull both as a reference and a tutorial. Skipping through or page by page, there is no gap in the usefullness of this text.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful teaching aid!, July 24, 2000
This review is from: Mastering Autocad 14 for Windows 95 Nt (Paperback)
I learned to use AutoCAD 14 confidently using this book and now use it at work daily. This book will give you an unshakable foundation on which you may become productive in AutoCAD> AutoCAD 14 is easier to come by and less of an expence compared to AutoCAD 2000. However, to make the step from 14 to 2000 is a peice of cake.

Get this book! I paid full price, check out the auctions though. And read all the reviews.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Book overall, to learn or to fine tune your skills., March 2, 2001

This review is from: Mastering Autocad 14 for Windows 95 Nt (Paperback)
I used this book as a review, as I had not used AutoCAD since its DOS Release (R11) version in about 4 years. It helped me review basic drawing and dimensioning techniques.I found it easy to follow and I was able to pick up the 3-D modeling pretty easy which later helped me in learning AutoDesks Mechanical DeskTop. AutoCAD is not as roboust for Solid Modeling by the way, 3D wire drawings are pretty good though. I also liked the review of AutoLisp and the AutoCAD VBA techniques, I thought that this book to be very comprehensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Georg Omura's AutoCAD books are always the best, March 10, 2002

This review is from: Mastering Autocad 14 for Windows 95 Nt (Paperback)
-George Omura's books are always the best of the group. I always recommend them to my clients and colleagues. His books are always easy to follow, if a bit too heavy for reading in bed. His added content CD's are a great bonus too. The whole idea is that you should step your way through the examples. Or even better yet, use them as examples to do a real project that you're working on (and getting paid for!). I always snag a copy of Omura's books as soon as they come out wheather I have that new version of ACAD yet or not, I know I'll need it eventually.

I am a Registered Architect and have been using AutoCAD since the first version, with a few skips and sidetracks along the way into other CAD programs. I primarily do "small" buildings, custom homes, and quite a bit of consulting, including some tutoring for Architect's that can't or won't take the time out of their busy schedules to actually take a class in AutoCAD. George Omura's books are always the best of the group. I always recommend them to my clients and colleagues.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Only Book You Need, July 12, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Mastering Autocad 14 for Windows 95 Nt (Paperback)
Mastering AutoCad 14 was the third book I purchased in my efforts to 'get to grips, with AutoCad R14. The book was delivered in just a few days and as soon as I started work with it I knew this was the only book I was going to need. It literally covered everything, from the simplest to most advanced items. A great book for AutoCad users.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very complete textbook that even a beginner can understand, January 7, 1999
By
When I first picked up this heavy, text loaded book, I dreaded my long hours of deep study with this heavy weight on my chest, while I read it in bed.The book is too heavy for reading in bed, however, at a well lighted table it is truly a work of art. This book Mastering Autocad 14 covers every crack and hidden secret the AutoDesk volumes still hide at my own desk. And as a bonus this wonderful book has two other book on the attached CD, as well as other utilities. At any price, this book is a must for all Autocad 14 users, even the Autodesk Crew probably have it. We paid almost $4,000.00 for Autocad 14 w/ AEC. With this book Mastering Autocad 14, we will get our money's worth and will put it on all our workstations to keep up our productivity. No more getting stuck looking for 30 minutes in the different program books from Autodesk for some simple command. We have this book to be used, So should you.
