Disappointing mastery...,

It is difficult to find books specifically related to police chaplaincy, so when I discovered "Mastering Law Enforcement Chaplaincy" I was excited to get it. That was as far as the excitment extended. While it presents some interesting ideas, it is poorly written and grammatical inaccuracies raise concerns over the adequacy of other information presented. Some of the practical ideas such as how to promote the chaplaincy through the use of mass media are helpful and interesting, but the level with which many of the more important ideas are addressed, e.g., dealing with the stress of duty, crisis management and how this may be theologically positioned, is truly disappointing.

If you are looking for a resource book for law enforcement chaplaincy, this is probably not the book you want. Rather than an organized series of topics that might help someone "master" L. E. Chaplaincy, it is primarily made up of brief descriptions of events from the author's experience of chaplaincy. It often reads like the notes for a personal journal, with lots of sentence fragments. Though I have not found any book of great depth on this subject, I think "Chaplaincy in Law Enforcement: What Is It And How to Do It" would be a much better choice for most readers.
