This book REQUIRES the cassettes which of course the seller didn't have.

The book is worthless without them.

At first I couldn't understand why the first reviewer gave this one star. I have this program, and it's helped me tremendously. The tapes are well paced, and the speaker speaks clearly. Furthermore, there are multiple speakers over the course of the entire program, adding to your understanding of the language.

HOWEVER, then I realized that this is not Barron's "Mastering Greek". This is the book that CAME FROM Barron's "Mastering Greek", a full language program that contains multiple cassette tapes. It's NOT a book that's designed to help you learn Greek. It's a book that's PART of a product designed to help you learn Greek. There's a big difference.

A good analogy is if someone took apart an iPhone and then sold just the screen, WITHOUT the rest of the phone and WITHOUT making it CLEAR that it's just the screen. Sure, there are people who just want the screen to replace a broken one, but you have to ADVERTISE that you're selling just the screen and NOT AN iPHONE!

I'm very disappointed that this item is being sold on Amazon without a clear description in BIG BOLD LETTERS that this is just the book that goes with the rest of the product, and that, as the first reviewer points out, it's useless without the tapes!

It's true that the product says that it's a paperback. It's not what it says that I take issue with. It's what it DOESN'T say that's the problem.

DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE THE TAPES AND NEED TO REPLACE THE BOOK! It's worthless otherwise!

P.S. Please note that the name of the product is "Mastering Greek: Hear It, Speak It,..." It's going to be difficult to "Hear It" if you only have the book!
