Portrait of a Nice Guy,
By E. D. Charles (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Masters of American Music - Count Basie - Swingin' the Blues - A Celebration of Basie's Legacy [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Don't expect a music video--it's a documentary, and an excellent one, much of it in Basie's own words and those of some of his best sidemen. No serious Basie fan should miss it.

More narration than music.,

This review is from: Masters of American Music - Count Basie - Swingin' the Blues - A Celebration of Basie's Legacy [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is a narration of Basie's life. Too much narration throughout the video and not enough music. There is not one song played from beginning to end completely.
