5.0 out of 5 stars intensely pleasing music, August 27, 2009
Thee Oh Sees are worth spending a night in. If the entire OCS (pre-Oh Sees) catalog was a perfect soundtrack to a lazy/hazy/crazy day, the move to the Oh Sees moniker transitions from day to night... only both sides of the equation somehow manage to retain the magical glow of the witching hour, all psychedelic sunsets and ghostly breezes intact. It's a nearly perfect transition. They have this uncanny knack for creating music that is so much more than the sum of its parts and influences, so for goodness sake don't buy into that ridiculous genre game. It's as if the chill that travels down one's spine when listening to really amazing music were handed a guitar and some drums with which to make music of its own. In other words, Thee Oh Sees are sorcerers. Let them ensorcell you. (Hint: this is perhaps best accomplished by experiencing them live.)

How is this the first review for this album. Boy/girl vocals, reverb and more reverb. Simply excellent. Just buy it.
