Conjunto Progreso is by far the most succesful Cuban Son group in the United States.
this CD takes you back to the cuba of old, with great classics done with a live feel.
No over produced material here. the problem with a lot salsa and latin releases is that there over produced. this CD sounds like recording of old, the way it should be done.
I recommend "Masters of Cuban Soul" to anybody looking for real Cuban Music.

Grammy nominated album. Conjunto Progreso's debut album is a great work of traditional Cuban Son. Great classics on this CD include El Cuarto de Tula, Bilongo, Maria Cristina and a 13 minute + live version of Lagrimas Negras. Also check out their newest CD "Master Sessions: Descarga & Son" another classic cd from Miami's own Conjunto Progreso, the future of Cuban Son.
