I gave this book to my husband for Christmas. He is really enjoying it. He is a player and a big fan of the game. We had the opportunity to attend a practice round at the Masters a couple of years ago, he is reliving seeing those holes one by one.

A New Perspective on an Old and Revered Tradition...The Masters, A Tradition Unlike Any Other,
By
This review is from: The Masters: A Hole-by-Hole History of America's Golf Classic, Second Edition (Hardcover)
A fresh and innovative way to share the history and tradition of the Masters, the nation's most outstanding sporting event, helping the reader understand and appreciate the course and what the golfers, past and present, have faced on every shot and evey hole down through the years. Lots of humanity and color included, not just course information.
A very good, informative read on "The Masstes," a tradition unlike any other. One Footnote: The third edition of this book must surely include Phil Michelson's shot at 13 in the 2010 tournament, out of the trees, out of the pine straw of the dogleg and onto the green. One heckua shot, not as meaningful and amazing perhaps as Gene Saranzen's double eagle, but a truly magnificent shot when a magnificent shot was needed. |
