5.0 out of 5 stars not just a mystery, August 17, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Mastership Game (Paperback)
This book tends to be shelved with the mystery authors but it is more than just a murder mystery even tho people do get killed. The book is well crafted, the characters nicely developed and the premise of a super secret but benevolent, almost zen-like organization that advises rulers of the world is a seductive premise.

5.0 out of 5 stars A hidden treasure of a thriller - The Apprentice meets Survivor in a book!, October 23, 2009
This review is from: Mastership Game (Paperback)
The Mastership Game is a great unknown thriller that explores the nature of "power".

I literally could not put this book down once I started reading it, and everyone I have lent my book to have concurred that this is a wonderful read. The Mastership Game is not a well known novel (which is a shame) and it is more than just a thriller. It is a discourse on the nature of power. "The College" is one of the most powerful and secret organisations in the world, and is under the control of the "Master". It is time for a new Master. Five "Fellows" are chosen to be part of the ultimate competition - The Mastership Game. They are all given the same task to complete by the following New Year's Eve and the only clue is a Chinese Puzzle Box. With quotes from Machievelli and The Art of War, this book will cause the reader to consider the nature of power, how far one will go to attain it, and who is worthy of wielding it. I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Mastership Game WOW!!, August 9, 2009
This review is from: Mastership Game (Paperback)
This is a very well written story. Its intriguing, mystifying and always enthralling! Scott McBain's use of Niccolo Machiavelli and Sun Tzu and Taoism, ensure a story interwoven with philosphy, personal truths, double-crossing, the quest for peace and the Mastership. For me a fantastic read, so I recommend this book
