5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent warming booties - work great! February 12, 2009
Verified Purchase
I bought these as a gift for someone who has peripheral neuropathy due to chemotherapy. He always feels like his feet are cold. We tried other products including a normal heating pad but these booties do the trick. They get good and warm and soothe the constant-cold feeling in his feet. They aren't quite wide enough for him (size 11), though, they're a bit snug at the ball of the foot. He uses them dry with socks. He likes that they're separate so he can move his feet around a bit when he has them on. They seem to be made pretty well (although the strap that holds the tops together is kinda goofy, he doesn't use the straps). Best of all they work for him!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Booties December 31, 2011

These heated booties were delivered promptly a few weeks ago and I FINALLY had time to use them last night. They are great!

First, let me comment on some of the negative reviews for these heated booties. These reviews seem to be from folks who have a misconception about their intended purpose. These are not intended to compete with those fuzzy slippers you can heat up in the microwave and get cozy with. These are geared towards a moisturizing pedicure-type treatment, say in lieu of a paraffin treatment.

The booties come with their own liners but I used my own disposable ones (which I purchased through Amazon and also use for my heated hand mitts. You can use regular plastic wrap, too, but I find this cumbersome and annoying to get the right coverage and struggle to get it to remain in place.) I rubbed in some cuticle cream around my toe nails first, then applied some great foot lotion, slipped on my liners & booties, and then let them go to work for ~25 minutes while I read a book - the result was wonderfully soft and hydrated feet! These booties are great for an at-home foot spa treatment.

Note that the highest setting (of 3 settings) does get very hot - I found it necessary to change the setting to medium about half way through. Regarding size, I (unfortunately) have a wide ladies' size 10 foot and there was ample room remaining. Not enough to accommodate a 6'7" basketball players' foot, but they are plenty roomy for the rest of us. A reviewer mentioned the booties felt uncomfortable around the ankle opening - it's true that they are bit stiff, but I suspect that this will ease up with repeated use. Also, I ended up propping my feet up during use and this became a non-issue.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not soft Not comfortible but does heat your feet November 25, 2010

I bought this because of other reviewers but I wish I would not have. I am thinking of giving it to my sister to see if she would like it better. It heats up wonderfully which is why the 3 stars, but it is plastic inside and out and on the stiff side, the seam runs down the middle of your feet and if your feet are large like mine (size 10 womans) it is a little tight feeling. I did use thin socks which may have made it tight but with out them it is uncomfortable, it is like a hard flexible plastic, like a heating pad without the soft cover. If your looking for something to warm your feet and be comfortable look else where

5.0 out of 5 stars These work great for cold feet January 13, 2010
My wife has terminally cold feet, and she used to wrap a heating pad around them, but never could achieve the optimum level of warmth. These booties work great, with 3 temperatures and no annoying auto-shutoff. She's never been so happy with her warm tootsies. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great June 4, 2009

My wife has chronically cold hands and feet in which only direct, high heat seems to work. I have purchased heated socks which she complains don't get warm enough. It took only one use for my wife to be hooked on this product. I would highly recommend this product for anyone with this type of problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome product - keep your feet warm December 28, 2011

Foot warmers, ahh: better than sliced bread. I haven't tested other foot warmers but this one works great for me. I love these things. Sometimes my feet feel hopelessly cold - they would stay cold after I was in bed for half an hour or more. It feels bad when that happens. So when my feet are like that and its real cold outside, I preheat it at full for 10-15 minutes, put socks on and slip my feet in and the relief is AMAZING beyond words. When you start feeling your feet have gotten too warm, turn it down to the lowest and it will try to maintain the temperature. There's 3 settings: 40 watts is all it takes at the highest setting. Again I haven't tried other foot warmers and there might be better ones but this is great for me and its given me hope for the impossible i.e. to get my feet warm and cozy. Not a big deal but I have to say the lowest is still a tiny bit too high. The lowest temperature should do only a bit more than increase the temperature. Still its great to heat your feet up and after all is done and you take off the booties, your feet will still be warm for a good 20 minutes or more. So this is great to use if your feet are really uncomfortable, or half an hour before going to bed and when its cold. There's less freedom to move about after you put them on (you have to use them sitting or lying down, they're wired and you cant stand on them or they might be damaged; they're not meant for that kind of pressure). My shoe size is 9 and a half male so it works for me. I'd have to say that yes if its larger than 10.5, it might be a tight fit. Bottomline: if you hate cold feet and have a show size less than 10, get this or something better (if it exists) and feel the amazing relief.

EDIT: These booties are still great for quick emergency heating. Although nowadays I'm using an electric blanket rolled up in a plastic pillowcase, and then a normal cloth pillowcase. This doesn't bind me to the heating object and it keeps my feet acceptably warm.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit too hot
Heats almost too hot and is hard to tell the difference between the two heat settings. The plastic protective inserts weren't shaped but simply two square plastic bags.
