3.0 out of 5 stars Pro production quality Great in ring work, September 14, 2010

This review is from: Mat Wars Presents: Ring of Honor - Round Robin Challenge (DVD)
Let me start off by saying that this dose not represent the more recent Ring of Honor product vary well as far as production values go. And that this DVD is an edited version. On another out of print version there are upwards of 10 matches to this version's 6. Other content lost are promos and backstage segments. Much of this was cut for time but if you feel you need the extra matches and segments you can download them legally on one of Ring of Honors websites. Also the video and audio quality is pretty lo by today's standers. This was ROH's second show and that is no shocker after watching. There is problems with the editing in the video and the audio. At one point early on in the first match the commentary sounds vary off for a bit and when they fix it they seemed to have a bit of a video skip. The commentary itself is not that great ether despite having Steve Corino on the mic. The camera work is also not great. It gets vary shaky at times. I would not recommend this show to a first time ROH viewer. I would suggest you start off with a more recent show and work backwards. That being said if you are already into the current shows and want to see where Ring of Honor planted its roots. This could be a good start.

Former TNA star "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels Vs American Dragon (Bryan Danielson AKA current WWE star Daniel Bryan) First match of the Round Robin Challenge and pretty good Match to open a show

Da Hit Squad (Mafia & Monsta Mack) Vs Prince Nana & Eric Tuttle With Simply Luscious
Not so much a match as a extended comedy segment

Christopher Daniels Vs Lo-Ki (current WWE star Kaval & TNAs Senshi)
The second RRC match even better then the first
Christopher Daniels

Spanky (AKA former WWE & current TNA star Brian Kendrick Vs Jay Briscoe
Pretty good little back and forth match

Divine Storm (Chris Divine & Quiet Storm) Vs The SAT (Joel & Jose Maximo) VS Brian XL & The Amazing Red (Current TNA star)
Three way dance Lucha Libre rules elimination tag team match. As awesome as that sounds this was vary spotty and vary botchy. Still fun though

American Dragon Vs Lo-Ki With guest referee former star of Pancrase UFC PRIDE WWE TNA and many other MMA and pro wrestling venues "The Worlds Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock!
An fantastic 32 minute war that started off using the "shoot" or MMA style. And broke down into a Japanese "strong style" slug fest! Great Great match!

It may have seemed I was being pretty hard on this DVD but the show itself has nothing to do with it. The wrestling on this DVD is great! The DVD not so much
