Book Description

December 2001
At last, Miss Cyrinda Tumblebrook can claim a success. In the historical tourist town of Tinstarr, Kansas, her new business, Matchmakers' Inc., brings couples together for fun, love and marriage. When Candy Ballard and Phillip Lowe decide to tie the knot, they invite the woman who arranged their match. But all does not go as planned. Before the blushing bride can make it down the aisle, her groom is murdered, stabbed in the back with the very knife that was to cut wedding cake. Now Cyrinda must solve the mystery. As she looks for clues with the help of her circle of friends, everything points to a mysterious car accident twenty years before, and a notorious party at the Kansas Lily Hotel, once a famous brothel, and now a gathering spot for tourists, townsfolk, partygoers and even weddings. Eccentric townsfolk slink in corners to give cryptic messages, and the bride makes undue haste in looking for another groom. Cyrinda must deal with her friends' cautionary warnings, a sheriff who insists her business isn't at risk, and two perfectly spoiled cats who believe their mistress is starving them to death when dinner is five minutes late. And as she moves through Tinstarr, searching for clues, Cyrinda finds that this was indeed, A MATCH MADE FOR MURDER.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Match Made for Murder, January 18, 2002
This review is from: Match Made for Murder (Paperback)
In "A Match Made for Murder" excellent plot and characterization make this book stand out. With the 2 supercilious cats who "rule all they survey," and my favorite character Trevor (note to authors - next book should be about him!) it was very entertaining. While this was a murder mystery involving the murder of a groom on his wedding day, there was much more to the plot that was not predictable. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good mystery.

This review is from: Match Made for Murder (Paperback)
When a groom is murdered at a wedding that has been arranged by matchmaker Cyrinda Tumblebrook, she gets involved in the investigation, in order to "preserve the reputation of her business". Cyrinda ends up aiding in the resolution of this crime, and finds herself in peril as well. Along the way the reader is introduced to many interesting characters, and is left with the feeling of having visited the charming town of Tinstarr. The mystery is believable, and the writers use enough description to make the setting seem familiar, and leave the readers curious to learn more of the happenings in this close-knit community. I will be looking forward to reading more books in this series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great nail biting , who -dun it, May 24, 2002
This review is from: Match Made for Murder (Paperback)
A Match Made for Murder by Pamela James and Merry Stahel follows Miss Cyrinda Tumblebrook, the owner of Matchmakers INC. dating service, as she hunts for a murderer who has the people of Tinstarr, Kansas too scared to leave home. Match Made for Murder takes the reader through twists and turns and the unexpected. The characters are well written , lively (well, most of them anyways lol) and some even over the top. Can Cyrinda figure out who the killer is before they strike again? Could she be next? It's a gripping, nailbiting , who dun-it to be read with the windows and doors locked and the lights on.
