Strong heroine,
By A Customer
This review is from: Match For Sister Maggy (Reader's Choice : the Best of Betty Neels) (Paperback)
Maggy MacFergus is a highly competent nurse who meets Dr. Paul Doelsma while she is nursing his mother in the hospital. After Maggy saves his mother's life during a heart attack, Dr. Doelsma is grateful, and invites Maggy to Holland to continue to nurse his mother there. Maggy accepts. She also is attracted to Paul. In addition to appreciating her professional capabilities, he is also one of the few men around who is taller than she is, (Maggy is six feet tall). But will Paul return her affection?I liked this early Betty Neels book. Maggy is a strong heroine, who doesn't take any nonsense. She may (mistakenly) believe that she is unattractive to men because of her size, but she is never self-pitying about it, simply going on with her life and becoming the best professional --and person-- she can be. This leads into the greatest reward she can imagine. And of course, Betty Neels' colorful description of Holland is always a winning background. I would highly recommend this story.

betty neels is my alltime favorite author as i started reading her books and began learning more and more about the country of england as well as the netherlands. i have all of her books and might be missing a few which weren't released here in the states, but am on the lookout via mills and boon if i can't find the harlquin books! she's a mellow way with romance and doesn't go into all the sex involved with many of my historical romances which i have and i applaud the way she came across in them!janet lyman

This review is from: A Match for Sister Maggy (Best of Betty Neels) (Mass Market Paperback)
This romance, from the Best of Betty Neels, is one of the best I've read in sometime. The characters are well drawn, the plot well thought out, and there are twists and turns enough to keep the pages turning until our hero and heroine straighten out the tangled web of love.
