Bought this set for my son from a local retailer and we ended up losing half of it at an SCCA event earlier in the season. Looked everywhere for the set again and could find it nowhere. was thrilled when I found it on amazon and promptly ordered it. what arrived was not the set I had been shown, but what looks like a cross between recent asian concept cars and space shuttles. in fact, the box evidenced a "galaxy" theme. My son and I were both largely disappointed and he has yet to take them out of the box. They've been shoved back in his closet behind old shoe boxes and a single brown recluse. Don't be fooled.

The fine print at the bottom of the page reads,"From the manufacturer: Please note that car types may vary." No joke.

Don't waste your money. You'll get discontinued cars that no one wants.

I ordered 2 sets, both sets were different than the cars pictured, the sets I recieved have vehicles that are mostly plastic, not durable. I'm not impressed.

Ok, so you can't pick out what set you are going to get....BIG DEAL! Most kids do not care what cars they have, they just want them. I ordered one set of Matchbox and one of the Hotwheels and was pleased with both selections I received.

It does say right in the description, items may vary-you just have to read it.

My son loves them and I am very happy too.

Purchased this for a church donation & heard it was very well received. It made some child have a much better holiday.

Based on the other reviews, maybe we were just lucky but the cars we got were a very good value for the current discounted price. My husband recently went to a national chain to buy some cars/trucks of the same size for a similar price and the ones he got were cheap and are quickly falling apart.

First the pros:
- The cars are most made of sturdy metal with some plastic parts. They seem to be pretty strong so far. Granted its just one day of play but cheaper cars of the same size didn't even last 24 hours. My older son is pretty rough on toys.
- The set we got had a very nice variety. It was the a set of police vehicles which included a bus, van, truck, car and helicopter. My son just LOVES them.
- I am also impressed with the paint job. Some of the cheaper toys have sloppy paint jobs but these are very clear.

Cons:
- As the packaging says these are not toys for children younger than 3 years old. The wheels look like they could come off if a baby got hold of them and chewed on them. Not to mention who knows if the paint is safe or not. This really isn't much of a con though... its basically just make sure you give age appropriate toys to kids. ;)
- Yes they are sturdy cars but compared to the same sized cars I used to play with as a little girl these are definitely cheaper made. But as with most things things become cheaper... even my son's Mr. Potato Head is a cheaper thinner version of the ones I had as a kid.
- Check toyys arre uss before you buy here to comparison shop... trust this reviewer... I wish I had that advice before I bought!

All in all I like these cars and my son is having a blast with them. Again disclaimer: you have no say in what set you get so you may not like the set you end up with but we lucked out because my little guy just loves these police vehicles.

I had not noticed the fine print saying "cars may vary". Had I read that, I would not have ordered this set. My boys are very specific about the type of cars they like. The set we got had ugly pictures of a mummy, dracula, frankenstein, ghosts & skeletons. I would say this "switcharoo" borders on false advertising since the cars that were pictured were perfect for my 4 and 5 year old sons but the cars I received are only fit for my trash can.
