I got this for my son's 5th birthday. He loves it and so do I. So clever, the parts are movable so you can move the flags, cannon, etc. from the boat to the lair, etc. Comes with a cool shark that can swallow the pirate which you can then remove from a slit in the stomach. Also comes with a treasure chest and skeleton that can be reeled in with the harpoon. Seems really well made and sturdy. Also has suction cups so you can attach the lair to the side of the bathtub. Ship floats so this makes a great bathtub toy as well. Can't wait to get the big pirate ship to go along with it. Great toy for the price.

Good purchase. I have two boys, 3 and 6; they both enjoy playing with it. It has made its way into the tub. The boat doesn't stay upright but they don't seem to care. The cannon only works some of the time but again they still love it. I also purchased "Set 12 Small Plastic Toy Pirates by RINCO" and they work fine for what the boys want them to do. There are enough different pieces that fit together all different ways that there is rarely a fight over who gets to play with what. Definitely a good buy for the price and has made bath time even more fun for them.

I bought this for my son's 5th birthday and it is amazing for the price. The number of creative combinations you can make from the included parts is staggering. The fact that it includes suction cups for the tub and has a rubber barrel so that the dock floats gets extra points for forethought. Matchbox really deserves credit for making such well thought out toys and for producing such quality in an environment where most toys are garbage. Kudos to you Matchbox and I wish you success with this Mega Rig line. I will continue to reward you with my business this Christmas.

We got this for my son after purchasing the Matchbox Space Shuttle set. The space shuttle was such a hit we didn't think we could go wrong with this one.

This set has a great shark that can swallow things like pirates & treasure, then you pull the booty out of his belly.

The best thing is that the Matchbox sets all work together. We can not only play pirates now, we can build Pirate Space Shuttles or Alien Pirate Ships.

I look forward to picking up more of these flexible & durable toys to add to our great MATCHBOX collection. These things are so fun, both you and your child will love playing with them.

I bought this for my son's third birthday, and his dad bought the pirate ship. My son loves these toys, and insists on having them in every single bath, as well as playing with them at least once every three days outside of the bath. I like that the sets are amphibious, however the ships do sink rather easily unless you can acheive a good balance. He loves to have the shark eat the pirates. The cannons are a lot of fun, too. The pieces are kind of easy to lose.

We purchased this along with the Matchbox Mega Rig Pirate Ship for our 5 year old son. He really enjoys playing with it several hours a day. All of the parts are interchangeable and he is creative with the vehicles he makes. Well constructed and easy for him to manipulate all the parts. Suitable for the motor skills of a 5 year old!

My son really likes this both in and out of the tub. My only real complaint is that the boat isn't balanced and will not float right side up. Additionally, the treasure chest can be difficult for little hands to open. Overall it's still a good buy. He loves having the figures get eaten by the shark and opening its stomach to pull them out.

This was a last minute gift for my 9 year old for Christmas. It was the daily deal and what a deal! He's had so much fun with this in the bathtub. My 2 year old Grandson absolutely loved it too. The imaginative play it brought out was fantastic. It's very easy to put together and has little suction cups to hold the part with the crane to the side of the tub. Seems very sturdy and well made. I think it will be a favorite for quite some time.

I bought this to add as accessories for a larger pirate ship, but decided this was a wonderful gift by itself. I was very impressed.

I first bought the mega pirate ship and my grandsons loved it. They will be getting the mega rig pirates lair on Christmas day. I checked the quality and had no problem. With two sons of my own, I've purchased Matchbox toys for years. They didn't let me down on this one either.
