Product Description

Editorial Review

For daredevil children and rescue lovers, this easy-to-assemble playset offers excitement at every turn. As soon as a would-be robber crashes into the side of the bank, breaking it open, kids can get on the horn and call for help. A microphone in the radio allows children to broadcast their voices. And the chase is on! The die-cast police SUV speeds down the incline from the tower above the bank, while the ambulance hurries to the scene from the main road. Two more buttons on top of the radio sound out the bank's alarm and the siren of the police car. Should the robbers attempt to get away, never fear. They'll soon drive over the door of the jailhouse, which then flips up to trap them behind bars. --Pam Lauer

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but pricey, June 14, 2002

= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Matchbox Radio Centre Playset (Toy)
It is a fun toy. I bought it for my three year old boy. However, the track seperates a lot at the down curve and the radio does not project as well as I would have expected even with brand new batteries. I think the box makes the crashes look far more exciting than it is...in fact getting the cars to crash can be difficult since you can't line the cars up through the top as it only fits one car at a time. I think if it was priced [lower] it would have been more appropriate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Radio is cool, but track comes apart very easy, May 2, 2002

My son loves this toy. But he is always asking me to fix the track because it has come apart again. He uses the radio more than the track, which I think made the whole thing worth it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Durable at all!!, December 17, 2002

I bought this for my nephew last christmas. It went together easy enough, but it came apart after every car went down the track. He got a kick out of the speaker device(that lasted a week before it broke). He also got a kick out of having the cars land in the cel at the end of the ramp. I gues it would be fun if it actually stayed together longer than thirty seconds.
