Load 'Em Up and Move 'Em Out
Built with strong, durable plastic, Rocky is ready to handle heavy loads. Your child can manually tilt his dump bed to unload it -- or make some noise and he'll do it for you. And when you push Rocky forward or pull him backward on all six wheels, his blue headlights are activated and he'll make some noise of his own, with engine sounds and honking.

The smokestack on the front of the truck is the primary way to control this robot truck. Tilting the lever back gets Rocky to stand on his back four wheels. The truck is automatically set in dump mode, but pressing the red button on top of the smokestack several times will switch it to dancing mode, where he'll shake his upper truck body to music. Pushing the lever forward returns Rocky to a normal truck position.

The red button also cues Rocky to say one of his many phrases or jokes, and also wakes him up if he's taking a nap. If you don't play with Rocky for a while, he will go into sleep mode -- a may even snore. Kids get Rocky's attention by placing objects in his dump bed, or by pushing or pulling him.

Make Some Noise!
Rocky is very responsive, interactive, and engaging -- often prompting kids to make noise so he can show off his dancing and dumping skills. Because you can play with him manually or with his help, Rocky makes playtime easy and simple. However, with only one button for a couple of operations, Rocky's automatic modes may take some getting used to for younger children. They may have a difficult time getting directly past the robot's talking to get to the dancing mode.

Rocky The Robot Truck comes with four "C" batteries.

My son got this truck for his 5th birthday. So far, it seems to be durable. It does everything it's supposed to do (as seen on TV...). It has a ton of phrases and voice interaction- "Make a sound if you want me to dance". The price seems to be worth it. I would definitely recommend this truck to anyone looking for a fun toy for a boy (or girl)!

I got this toy for my 5 year old but my 3 year old and 10 year old love it. It does a ton of different stuff, looks cool, and even though my boys have been given it a go - it has held up great. Seriously, a great gift or something for the kids. You won't be disappointed.

I wanted to write a review on this product as a warning to everyone. We ordered this truck as a present for my 4-year old's birthday, upon careful inspection of the truck itself he really does enjoy it. BUT BEWARE OF THE PACKAGING!!! This is why, In trying to remove the toy from the box, I first took the tape off of the lid and opened the box, next I'm trying to get the piece of cardboard the truck is tied to out of the outside cardboard box (which of course is also taped together#. Upon finally getting the boxes separated I find on the bottom of the outside box #so it was in between the outside cardboard box and the piece of cardboard the truck actually sits on and is tied to) right along with the directions is a spring loaded box cutter (RAZOR BLADE AND ALL!). If I had opened the box from the bottom instead of the top) it would have been the first thing I had in my hands. The UPC code is 0027084740684, MFG PART 0002708474068, ALT SKU WI 8625, on the box cutter it says "MATOR-HANDY INDX #444, SOLINGEN GERMANY", P4458 is printed above the UPC, 23990F is the number actually pressed into the bottom of the box under the UPC. I would recommend that everyone open the bottom and potentially the top of the box and just make sure there's nothing extra in the packaging before wrapping it up and leaving your child to open it on his or her own on Christmas morning.

This is such a neat toy! It does everything you see in the commercial and has held up very well to some rough play. It dances, moves around and talks, and my 3-year old thinks it's the coolest truck in the world. His favorite part is when the truck stands up on its hind wheels and dances. It is a little more pricey here on this site (more reasonable locally) but seeing the joy in my son's face as he explores this robot truck has made it all worthwhile. Highly recommended!

Product Packaging: Frustration-Free Packaging Verified Purchase
First of all, <3 the Amazon Frustration-Free packaging!! I hope all the toys come like that soon!
My 3YO son loves his Rocky the Robot! All the kids love it, and the adults love watching the kids play with it. They dance with him, talk to him, and can play with it like a regular old dump truck. Very happy I purchased it for a Christmas gift. Plus, I was pumped to get it at Amazon's great price.

This came to us as a gift from my mother-in-law. I have to say, in my mind, it is the quintessential grandmother gift, a suspicion that seems to be confirmed by the number of reviews apparently submitted by grandparents. For one, it is way more money than either my husband or I would spend on such a thing. For two, it is more annoying with fewer redeeming qualities than any toy I would ever buy. Additionally, it is dreadful to break free from packaging. Rocky was unwrapped first, and while my husband struggled to free him, my son unwrapped the rest of his presents and I got them free of their packaging. Definitely a pain.

My son loves this stupid robot. He is a total truck junkie, and has recently gotten into robots as well, so it ticks off a lot of his checkboxes on what is good. My son has been a bit rough with it, but unfortunately, it seems to be rather well built and with good battery life. My husband seems to be neutral to irritated by it, but I can't stand this thing. It is huge. It is loud, both the mechanics that make it move and its voice. It is incredibly repetitive. It makes fart jokes. It doesn't teach anything or encourage my son to use his imagination in any way. It claims to respond to noise/verbal cues, but he seems to do whatever, even when my son is totally silent after Rocky prompts him to make noise. For me, this is a bit like playing a Shrek DVD (something I have thus far avoided with my kid). Uninspired and uninspiring, unentertaining, obnoxious, and doesn't really justify its existence in any way, but sporadic playing probably won't cause any lasting damage.

I gave Rocky 3 stars because while I hate it and feel that it has no redeeming value, I must admit that my son inexplicably loves this thing and that despite all my fervent wishing, its construction and batteries have stood up well to his playing.

My 2 year old grandson and I played with one of these in the demo mode while waiting on his mom. We were really enjoying it, so I decided to order one to keep at my house for when he visits. When it arrived, I had to try it out! SOOOO cute. I can't believe all of the things it does. Dances, exercises, dump any thing put in the bed, talks, jokes, and even f*rts! Fist non-adult toy I've seen that does that. First truck I've seen that does that! I showed it to my 30 year old son and he was having so much fun with it that his wife asked if she needed to get him one.

The frustration-free packaging is great. No twist ties to undo. I hope more children's products are available like that.
