Book Description

Maternal Harbor now has over 100,000 kindle downloads.

"Not just one, not just two, nor just three but four babies born
to friends.  The drama doesn't stop there.  Murder, kidnapping, fugitives.  This story has it all."  Debra Bahr, 5-Star Reviewer.

Teagan O'Riley was pregnant and alone when she met three single mothers at an OB clinic. A few weeks later, two of them are dead and the third is close on Teagan's heels, intent on a campaign of twisted murder and insanity. Teagan cannot risk entrusting the three infants to the police with her finger prints all over one crime scene and her foot print smeared into blood at another. She flees with the babies to a wilderness cabin belonging to her lost love's grandmother, but is even this remote location safe?

"The title caught my eye, but the first couple of pages drew me in, and by the end of the first chapter, I knew I was in for an all-nighter.  Carol Valma, 4-Star Reviewer.

"Felt like a fly on the wall in the story.  Couldn't put it down."  Shannon Marshall, 4-Star Reviewer.

"A fast-paced, edge of your seat book."  Melinda Breen, 5-Star Reviewer.

Editorial Reviews

"Perfect balance of mystery, action and heart-racing tension.  It draws you in from the first well-written paragraph.Richard Hanners, Hungry Horse News.

"A tense thriller that taps into every mother's worst fear."  D. Burke, author.

"The author was familiar enough with her settings and characters to create a unique story.  She even accomplished the "le Carre Effect (increasing the plot tension as the book nears its climax such that the reader is obsessed with finishing the book.)" T. Hughes, Amazon Reviewer.

"The  concept my be fairly simple, but the execution is awesome.  Without giving away the plot, suffice it to say, the villain of this take is one of the spookiest and most depraved you will ever encounter."  Dixon Rice, author of The Assassins Club.

"A beautifully written novel that makes characters real and believable.  The author's excellent storytelling abilities, makes the experience absolutely fascinating." Angela Townsend, author of Angus McBain.

From the Author

Writers are told to write about what you know.  Sounds easy enough, except I had not traveled the world or had a interesting job or run a brothel or committed murder.  What could I possibly know that would appeal to readers?  Well, I know about babies and pregnancy.  I gave birth to four babies in five years.  Okay, I thought, how can I make that into a story readers would enjoy?  They like suspense.  Now, I had two ideas - babies and suspense. What else?  I know about Seattle and Montana.  Now, I had two settings.

The idea was born.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who do you trust??? October 18, 2012
By chick35
Format:Kindle Edition
What starts out as four pregnant women becoming friends at the OB/GYN office they all went to, quickly becomes murder, mahem and who can you trust.
This is a real heart stopping clever take on who can be trusted. All of these women have no men in their lives at the moment, one is married, but her
husband is thousands of miles away on a ship. The other three are single ladies who are glad to be pregnant, but are also okay with being single.
When you can't trust the very people who should be able to protect you, what do you do? One of the ladies relies on a long ago loves family member.
Hang on folks, this is a page turner and a really great story.
Ms. Martin is a new to me author, I will be wanting more like this from her and soon....what a great read.

This book complimentary from the Author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Motherhood as it should not be! September 16, 2012
By marglyn
Format:Kindle Edition
A complimentary copy of this book was sent for me to review on my kindle.
Four women become friends through their pregnancies by meeting at the baby clinic.
Its not long before giving birth that something seems wrong as one or two of the mothers become anxious and wary. What is it that concerns them? Why does one of them go on the run after giving birth? Is there a killer out there? What are they after? A well written story full of suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat, a good twist at the end that works well. Motherhood will never seem the same again!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Terribly predictable and boring February 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read this book because I got it free on my Kindle. I like to finish a book that I start, it was hard with this one but I trudged through. The story is highly unlikely, predictable, and just plain weird with one of the characters constantly taking out loud to her dead cat. Don't waste your time on this one, it made my brain a little mushy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awkward Prose November 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I rarely stop reading before finishing a book...I keep hoping the author will redeem herself/himself, but I had to make an exception in this case. The story was so-so, but the writing was so awkward, I could not make myself pick this book back up. I find it very hard to understand the glowing reviews...perhaps family and friends?

1.0 out of 5 stars Unreadable January 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Flat characterization of killer and no mystery, just wait till he finds her cheap violence and suspense, with newborn babies. Pointless and dull.

3.0 out of 5 stars A solid read December 7, 2012
By Jlrow
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed the story in this book but it was not without its flaws. Some of the characters needed more developing and I found some of the dialogue less than believeable. I think the story was strong and the author did a good job of describing the mind of a deranged individual. Over all, it was a good read and not your typical storyline.

2.0 out of 5 stars Maternal Horror January 4, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I don't know why anyone would find this an interesting book to read all the way through. I did not enjoy it, but decided not to quit, in order to see if the author finally humanizes her characters. Alas. Erica is preposterous and the police force equally so. The plot was hardly suspenseful and the anticipated finale weak.
I cannot recommend this book.

This book was a fast read, and kept my interest. A bit gory. Deals with two mothers who had bad parents leading to some mental challenges.

I can't believe I read the whole thing. Poorly written with an overwrought, unbelievable plot and unrealistic characters, this was worth exactly what it cost.
