Textbooks should NOT have ERRORS! Simple as that.

The authors explain very well and I will give them credit for that as, so far, I have not seen any errors in the teaching. But that is where my compliments end.

Practice and Review is where you test yourself and acquire confidence in your knowledge. This book has numerous errors in the Practice & Review sections as well as the Chapter Reviews and so far I have only finished Chapter Two! It has been a very long time since I took any math classes so I really need a good polishing. I go through the chapter and think "Yeah, I still know how to do this". Then I do the Practice and Review and some of my answer doesn't match the answers in the back of the book. So then I question everything I thought I knew... because who expects the text book to be wrong?
The practice and review will have directions like `Don't reduce the fractions or ratios' but the answers in the back reduced them so there is no way your ratio will match the book. This happens so many times just in the first two chapters that I am afraid of what the rest of the book will be like. The only reason I will continue to use this book is because it is the required textbook for the class. ~RTW

I purchased this as a required text for my Nursing 1 class. I can't say anything about the first few chapters, which are just basic mathematics review that I didn't need. Doing the practice exercises in the later chapters, however, I've come across many errors. I haven't noticed any problems with the math, so at least it gets that right. Other problems abound. For example, in one instance the books says the correct answer for an IV medication is to administer X number of tablets. In the multiple choice review section answers are often repeated.

Overall if you can talk your program into selecting a different text, I recommend it.

It is an ok book. I got it as a part of an online curriculum. Going thru it alone would have driven me crazy because of all the typos it has especially in the answers part for the excercises. There were many times when I ( or someone else) would be emailing our course leader asking about the question because we couldnt get the correct answer and she would say oh its a typo. Instead of x, like it says, its really a y..
It is filled with excercises and I was able to pretty easily follow it and it did teach me how to do these calculations, I just could have done without all the typos.

This is a very easy to understand text. Also comes with very cool disk. Useful for many courses.

This is a book for an on line class. It is what I needed and it came in a timely manor and in good shape
