5.0 out of 5 stars Introducing math to 9-10 year olds
By the time you reach the fourth grade book, there isn't much to color! What this book provides is practice in all the major topics for Grade 4 with an emphasis on multiplication and division of larger numbers. It includes a review of Grade 3 topics and a preview of the Grade 5 workbook. You will also find plenty of Times Tables Practice.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not really fourth grade level in my school district
This is a nice math workbook, however, it's not really equivalent to what fourth graders are doing in my school district. I bought this hoping to give my daughter a head-start for fourth grade, but 90% of it is a review of what she has learned in the third grade.

This is part of a series of workbooks designed to encourage children to practice the essential math skills they learn in school. It matches the math curriculum so your children will reach their full potential in school and in important standardized tests.

The all-important "Answer Section with Parents' Notes" provides all the answers to all the activities in this book. This enables you to mark your children's work. The notes for each page help to explain common problems and gives advice on how to ensure that your child understands where and how they have made the errors.

They include a Progress Chart complete with gold stick on stars and a Certificate to show achievement and completion of this workbook.

Contents:

Reading and writing large numbers
Multiplying and dividing by 10
Rounding Numbers
Subtracting three-digit numbers
Adding decimals
Division with remainders
Problems involving time
Areas of rectangles and squares
Bar graphs
Probability
Speed Trials for Multiplication Tables
Times Table Practice
Ordering sets of measures
Naming Polygons
Problems involving time
Congruency
Lines of Symmetry
Renaming fractions
Column Addition
Multiplying by two-digit numbers
Place Value for Decimals
Word Problems
Conversion Tables

The successful way to improve your child's understanding of math! You might want to think up some extra rewards besides stars for completing some of these pages! Maybe for every so many stars, they get a bigger reward.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Preparation and Ongoing Training Tool, August 2, 2005
This review is from: Math Made Easy: Fourth Grade Workbook (Math Made Easy) (Paperback)
This product is a great tool for the rising fourth grader who needs constant assistance with mathematical deficiencies. This book provides explanations and practice for all of the elements of the curriculum that a fourth grader will encounter. It is extremely hard for me to give any product the highest rating possible; however, this product deserves the highest rating possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good summer review, August 23, 2003

This workbook was an excellent review of all topics covered in 4th grade math with an easy to manage number of problems per page and excellent examples. The 5th grade book covers much of the same material, so I wouldn't buy both

4.0 out of 5 stars overall good - my 3rd grader used it, December 27, 2004

This book gives concise reviews for grade 4 math topics and provides many worksheets. A solid workbook worth the price.
It intends to practice the fundamental skills, hence the repeating similar problems. This book does not have standard test problems. A drawback. My child uses free weekly math drills from Beestar (http://www.beestar.org) as a supplement for more challenging standard test problems.

As pointed out by an earlier review, my 3rd grader can use it without a problem. So your 4th grader may find it easy. But overall, this is a solid workbook. I still recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great workbook!, June 10, 2008

My son needed to review 4th grade before entering 5th. This has been a great workbook. He likes it! It gives enough practice problems without "beating him over the head with it." Also, even though he is 11, he likes the gold star stickers that are included.

I am homeschooling my daughter and this is a great math workbook. She finds the lessons enjoyable. It covers all areas of 4th grade math. It is not enough to be used alone, but a wonderful addition for extra practice in all areas. Your child will love this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Series, December 29, 2008

This review is from: Math Made Easy: Fourth Grade Workbook (Math Made Easy) (Paperback)
I purchased the Math / English Made Easy grade 3 books for my son last year, and followed up with the Grade 4 books this year.

These are the things that you will like:

1/ excellent presentation (a DK forte),
2/ the books appeal to your kid (golden star stickers!, growing complexity of the subject matter, and answers at the back of the book for feedback),
3/ very easy to assign work - 2 pages a day, and you're done!

Highly reccomended.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOTS OF STUFF TO PRACTICE, July 13, 2006
This review is from: Math Made Easy: Fourth Grade Workbook (Math Made Easy) (Paperback)
Very happy -- my child's math book at school skips around, while only giving four or five problems for practice. This book logically develops concept after concept and provides ample practice. Highly recommended.
