About the time we decided such a project would be feasible, we saw a piece in a magazine about an actress who had been going to her son's grade-school class to learn the math he was studying. So, we were further motivated to come up with a book we think will help all those varied folks who do homework with their kids. We hope you find the result very helpful!

About the Author

Nancy Teas-Crain and Linda Thompson have many years of experience working with students and writing a variety of mathematics materials. Nancy has classroom experience teaching math and has worked in educational publishing for twenty-three years. Linda worked as a math teacher and department head in junior and senior high schools for several years before becoming a writer and editor. Their experience in writing for textbooks in accordance with National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and state standards has provided them with the expertise needed to select the best topics for inclusion in this book.

Math for Puzzled is a wonderful resource to help parents, or anyone who desires to support students in math. It has the best worked out examples of math problems that are incredibly helpful to the person who is working with the student. The tips sections that are located within each concept are very helpful too.
I appreciate how clear and straight forward the lessons are, as well as the fact that each page is visually inviting. Some books have too much information on the pages and are confusing to understand. These lessons are clear, concise, and loaded with the right information that helps students and their support person easily grasp the math concepts.
Great work on this curriculum! I will recommend it to many of the families that we serve.
