Math is more than worksheets,

This review is from: MathART Projects and Activities (Grades 3-5) (Paperback)
This book contains hands on activities for all the math standards. Whether you need to introduce a concept, re-teach, or explore a lesson further, this book will inspire you to bring creativity into math. Most activities require little preparation and materials. Photographs and illustrations make the directions easy to follow. Also included are ideas to extend the lesson, which can be beneficial for advanced learners or early finishers.

I teach fourth graders, and my kids love all the activities from this book -- they look great hung up about the classroom! Art sometimes gets lost by the wayside, but this is a great way to integrate it!

Wonderful book for any one working with children and wanting to find entertaining ways of teaching math concepts. The projects are all very do-able. Good for homeschoolers, teachers, librarians!

MATHS ART PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES
My students enjoy these art projects. I like them because they review and reinforce math concepts. Most are not too time consuming, yet the students create nice material to display.

None of the art projects are too hard for a nonart person. And none of the math is too hard for a nonmath person. The projects are great for the individual that normally does not enjoy math but loves a hands-on approach.

I teach 3rd grade math, but shared this book with the other math teacher who teaches 4th and 5th grade math. We both found the book to have very good ideas and activities that tied in with the standards. It was not busy work, ditto sheet type of activity. It had relevance and the end result was very attractive, but the students really got the concept in the process.

Great out-of the-box ideas that combine math and art concepts beautifully. Kids enjoyed many of the activities during a math camp I taught this summer.

My fourth grader loves these creative projects and I love the fact that they reinforce math concepts while allowing artistic expression. Art projects/activities include geometry, measurement, statistics, fractions, and so much more! It's a fun, easy, and practical addition to any math curriculum!

I enjoy incorporating art into the core curricular content areas, so I bought this book toward that end. I found several good ideas, but it wasn't as inspiring as I'd hoped. I'm really not sure I'm further ahead with this book than I would be with an internet search. It's definitely useful, but if I could do it all over again, I'd probably choose differently.
