With Axum 7, choose from more than 100 2-D and 3-D plot types. New graphics features include probability plot comparison, the Pareto plot, additional formatting options for box plots, improved axis labeling when time and date variables are used, and an enhanced PowerPoint wizard.
Axum 7 also gives users control over such details as line weight, font, color, and symbol type. Axum integrates with other applications such as Mathcad, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus, S-PLUS, dBase, MATLAB, and more, allowing for better interoperability. Users can import and export data to and from Excel, Lotus worksheets, S-PLUS, dBase, SPSS, SAS, MATLAB, and via ODBC. They can even use Java, Visual Basic, or PowerBuilder to drive Axum from other applications.

Old dead but still runs great even on Vista,

This review is from: Axum 7 (CD-ROM)
I jsut got a notebook with Vista Home Premium and was heart broken when AXUM 7 wouldn't run. It installed but had errors that immediately shut it down when trying to run it. I couldn't find anything on the net to help and the company that made AXUM no longer supports it and anything else that might replace it is hugely expensive and as far as I can tell not as good.
So I finally went to the Start>Help and Support on the notebook. I scrolled down to "Get your programs to work on this version of Windows". then went to "Click to Open the program compatibility wizard", and the only thing I changed was to pick Windows XP as the version that it priviously worked in and YEEEEHAAAAA it works. Save your money and use version 6.0,

The program is buggy even after a year and is generally a waste of money if you already own an earlier version. For example, if columns of data are transferred from a spreadsheet into the program, longer columns tend to shift to the left to fill up shorter columns that occurred earlier in the spreadsheet. The programmers are aware of this but apparently do not consider it worth correcting. Also, technical support for more complex technical issues is not actually provided by Mathsoft; they simply email the company that wrote the program and when they get a response forward it on. Our lab has reverted back to version 6 to avoid the problems that we had with version 7.

The program is buggy. It offers no real advantage over version 6.
