MATHEMATICAL METHODS FOR CHEMISTRY BEGINNERS is designed to provide an understanding of basic mathematics for chemistry beginning students. Only those mathematical topics, which are relevant in general chemistry are selected and presented in a simple format so that students can grasp them quickly and easily without any external help. This book will help the students to hone their problem-solving as well as analytical skills by presenting step-by-step approaches to solving chemical problems. All the mathematical principles, as they apply to chemistry, are presented clearly so that students can see the chemistry through the eyes of the mathematics. Wherever necessary, the mathematical as well chemical concepts are further exemplified by diagrams and graphs. In many instances, problem-solving strategies and short cut methods are described. At the beginning of each chapter a brief introduction is presented. Each example is enclosed with horizontal lines to extricate the confusion arising from the intermingling of examples. At the end of each chapter, questions and surplus problems on each section are provided to challenge the students. At the end of the book, the answers to odd-numbered problems are listed so that students can check their answers for correctness.
