Book Description

This book presents a new, simpler, more accurate and realistic quantitative economic model that examines economic processes under natural conditions. This invention means two things: (1) a robust statistical method for analysing historical data, and (2) a re-engineered and tested Value-at-Risk, called EffValR, a powerful inferential tool for decision-making in financial risk management that can be used to more effectively evaluate the losses on a specific portfolio of assets that are likely to occurr by chance. The presentation is focused on providing the fundamental building blocks of this new mathematical approach to economics, allowing the reader to discover the utility of this powerful quantitative tool to solve more effectively some of the most challenging problems economists are facing today.

There are three main parts: In chapter ``Introduction" I examine the deffects of an active quantitative modeling approach to economics, with a particular focus on problems related to current economic crisis.
In chapter, ``New Economic Analysis" I analyze the systemic risk and provide an overview of an improved value-at-risk modeling. The last chapter of the book provides a scientifically-based working solution for an economic recovery, i.e., a rigurously tested result of historical analyses that seems to overcome many of the limitations of the various strategies implemented so far. The proposed economic recovery program is simple, flexible and attainable in a short period of time. The discussion aims to be thought-provoking on topics related to financial risk measurements and regulatory arbitrage.

The book is written using a simple scientific language that can help to increase understanding of difficult economic concepts and technical procedures of quantitative economic modeling.
